Hello and welcome.
My name is Abi and I'm so glad you're here with me today.
This guided meditation is intended to help you to relax and to focus on the importance of serving yourself first so that you can meet the world from a place of fullness rather than depletion.
So now find a comfortable position either sitting or lying down and whenever you're ready gently close your eyes and let's begin.
Let yourself arrive.
There's nowhere else to be.
There's nothing else to do.
This is your space to rest,
To receive,
To replenish.
Let the earth hold you completely and notice any contact points,
Your heels or your hips,
Your shoulders,
The back of your head.
Feel the weight of your body settling a little more with each breath.
No effort,
Only awareness.
Beginning at the toes,
Soften them and let them be heavy.
The soles of the feet,
The heels,
The ankles,
These parts of you that carry so much.
Invite ease,
Invite rest.
Bring your attention to your calves and your shins.
Feel into the space between skin and bone and notice if you've been holding any tension here and let it soften.
Now to your knees,
Your thighs.
Let them melt outwards.
Let gravity do the work for you.
Feel into your hips and your pelvis,
A center of movement,
Of creativity,
Of stability.
Notice anything that's being held here,
Maybe expectations or responsibilities and ask yourself gently,
Is any of this mine to carry right now?
And if you can,
Let some of it go.
Draw your awareness to your belly.
Let it rise and fall naturally with the breath.
With every exhale,
Give yourself permission to soften even further.
Now bring the attention to the chest.
Feel the gentle rhythm of your heartbeat,
A reminder that you are alive and you are worthy without having to do anything at all.
Now to the shoulders,
Allow them to fall away from the ears.
There's so much that we carry here,
The weight of being everything to everyone.
So ask yourself gently,
What if it's safe to set that down just for now?
Bring awareness down the arms,
All the way to the hands.
The fingers are loose,
The palms are open.
There's nothing to hold and nothing to grip.
Moving now to the throat,
The space of voice,
Of truth,
Of boundaries.
What does it feel like to honor your own needs?
To speak to yourself as gently as you speak to those you love.
Relax the face,
Unclench the jaw,
Unfurrow the brow.
Let the skin around the eyes soften.
And feel your whole body as one complete living being,
Held and supported and resting.
Now imagine yourself standing at the edge of a wide open meadow at sunrise.
The sky is painted with soft golds and pinks.
The air is fresh and cool and quiet.
In the center of this meadow you notice a well,
An ancient deep and clear well.
This well represents your own inner source of energy,
Of love,
Of presence,
Of life itself.
As you approach this well,
Notice the water inside,
Clear and luminous and endless.
This is what you draw from when you care,
When you give,
When you show up for others.
But today,
Before offering anything outwards,
You simply lower the bucket and begin to fill yourself.
With every breath in,
You draw nourishment from this well into your body.
Let it fill your chest now,
Your belly,
Your heart,
Your mind.
With every breath out,
You release anything that doesn't serve you right now.
Any fatigue,
Any pressures,
Any depletion.
There's no rush here.
You are allowed to take as long as you need.
And as you continue breathing,
Just notice how when your own well is full,
It becomes effortless to give and effortless to care.
Because you are not pouring from emptiness.
You are sharing from all the flow.
Anchor yourself in this truth that serving yourself first is not selfish.
It is sacred and it is essential.
Now stay here with this well for a few moments more.
See yourself simply receiving.
Continuing breathing.
Let the well replenish you.
Now gently start to bring awareness back to the body.
Noticing those contact points,
The support beneath you and the breath.
We'll take two full nourishing breaths together to set an intention that you can carry with you throughout the rest of your day.
Our intention is to remember the importance of serving yourself first so that you can meet the world from a place of fullness,
Not depletion.
When you're ready,
Empty in the lungs wherever you are and take a nice deep inhale in through the nose and exhale slowly through the mouth.
One more inhale here,
Drawing in nourishment,
Ease and enoughness.
And exhale,
Softening,
Trusting and letting go.
Returning to the natural rhythm of breath.
Gently inviting movement back into the body.
Some wiggles of the fingers and the toes.
Taking any stretches here that feel nourishing for you,
That the body feels like it needs.
And gently blinking the eyes open.
Thank you so much for meditating with me.
