Begin bringing your awareness to your breath.

Feeling the air travel in through the nostrils,

Filling the abdomen.

And exhale completely through the mouth.

Gently bring your awareness to the rise and fall of the body with each breath.

Begin softening the muscles in the abdomen and low back to create space in this part of the body.

Feel your pulse begin to travel into the fingertips,

Into the toes,

And take complete breaths that fill the body.

And on the exhale,

Allow gravity to weigh down and release any tension.

If your mind wavers from the breath,

Gently guide it back.

And if you feel any sensations of pain or difficulty,

Send yourself compassion on the inhale and release as much as possible on the exhale.

You can affirm with each breath that I am balanced.

Begin to feel the entirety of your being present in this moment and allow the breath to be your guide back to the present.

Again if the mind wavers,

If any thoughts enter,

Allow them to pass through freely.

Allow the breath to cycle naturally,

Never holding it at any point.

And continue to breathe at your pace,

With your rhythm.

Right at the peak of your inhale,

You release.

Right at the base of the exhale,

We inhale again,

Gathering breath from the abundance of air that surrounds us.

Feeling into all parts of our being.

Connecting to the senses in the back,

Perhaps feeling the clothing touch the skin.

And continue to soften the abdomen with each breath.

I invite you to place your hands anywhere on the body that needs additional warmth and attention.

Take a moment to send yourself gratitude for your practice.

And take a moment to set an intention for the remainder of your day.

We'll close our practice with one last cleansing breath,

Breathing in through the nose and exhale through the mouth.
