If you keep returning to the same patterns in your life.
You may assume that you have not found the right method yet,
So you visualize harder.
You work on your belief.
You try to become more disciplined.
You search for another technique.
But what if the problem is not the method?
What if the self that is trying to use the method.
Is still centered around the life.
You're trying to leave.
This is the part so much manifestation and personal development advice skips.
Because your identity shapes what feels possible.
What feels safe.
What you choose.
What you avoid.
And what you allow yourself to receive.
So in this video,
I'm going to break down how to stop waiting for the outcome for your goals and begin practicing the self who can live it now.
And we're going to explore this in three parts.
First,
We'll look at why wanting a new life is not enough to stop the old pattern.
Then we'll look how to extract the identity hidden inside any one of your goals.
And finally,
I'll share four questions that you can use to begin practicing that identity in your life today.
It doesn't begin when the outcome finally arrives.
It begins with the self.
That is trying to create it.
So the first thing to understand that's easy to miss is that you're not only manifesting When you sit down to visualize or meditate,
In every single moment of every single day,
You are manifesting a self.
You are manifesting right now as you watch this video.
You are manifesting in the way you answer an email.
In the way you avoid a hard conversation,
In the way you postpone something that gives you energy.
In the way you tolerate something that drains you.
This is a rehearsed identity at work.
And for most of your life,
Your nervous system has practiced one particular version of you,
Who has an emotional baseline,
Has familiar thoughts,
Has default reactions,
And has a sense of what feels safe.
So when you try to introduce something outside that self,
Like a new aspiration or a new goal,
That can feel like a hard sell to the body.
So you may want more confidence,
But your body has practiced shrinking in certain situations.
You may want to be a more freer,
Aligned version of yourself.
But your body has practiced survival.
You may want abundance,
But your body has practiced lack.
This is why it can not only be about wanting your goals badly enough.
Yes,
Desire matters.
But desire does not automatically change a self that has been trained to default.
The same patterns and default states of being.
So the real work isn't hustling harder,
It's noticing and working with the version of you that keeps recreating your current life.
And your current circumstances.
This is where identity shifting comes in.
So let's talk about goals now.
So goals are important.
Goals give our brains a target to hit.
But the deeper layer underneath your goals is identity.
So the first thing to do is to focus less on the goals themselves,
And extract the identity underneath your goals.
So let's use confidence again.
If your goal is to be more confident,
The question isn't,
How do I get more confidence?
It's,
What is the identity of a person who exhibits confidence?
How do they think?
How do they sit in a room?
How do they speak on a normal Thursday at work?
How do they respond when they're seen,
Challenged,
Or misunderstood?
If your goal is to start a business,
The identity might be… I am someone who thinks,
Feels,
And acts like a person in business.
That doesn't mean you go and quit your job.
And pretend to be someone that you're not,
It means you ask,
What does that person do in their ordinary life?
How do they spend their time?
What skills do they learn?
What do they create?
What decisions do they make every day?
And the classic example that demonstrates this the most is if your goal is to write a book.
Then your identity is simply I'm a writer.
And what does a writer do?
They write.
That difference seems small,
But it changes the whole way you relate to your goals.
I need to write a book feels heavy,
But I am a writer.
And today I write one page?
Gives your identity something to practice.
I know this because I lived it.
Before doing this work,
I was a software developer in the corporate world for years.
I didn't wake up one day and say,
I want to build a whole body of work around identity shifting,
Returning to self,
And teach meditation.
That would have been too big of an ask for my nervous system to obey.
So I started small.
I wrote for 30 minutes a day while I still had my corporate job.
It wasn't glamorous,
It didn't change my life overnight,
But it gave my body a new identity to practice.
And with it,
A new version of myself to believe in.
So this isn't about reaching harder for the outcome you desire.
It's giving the identity underneath it one small way to show itself in the life you have now by practicing it.
Which brings us to how you actually can begin doing this.
Translating your goals into an identity.
Of thinking in terms of goals and outcomes.
I want you to start breaking down everything in your life through the lens of identity.
Here is a four question framework that you can use to help you get going.
So begin first by identifying What is the one thing you want right now?
Meaning,
What is the most important goal in your life right now.
Just choose one.
And when you have that,
Ask yourself honestly.
Who am I currently being?
While I chase that goal.
In other words,
What is your current identity?
Around that goal.
This is important.
Because if you look at this honestly,
You might notice there's a mismatch.
A little mismatch between what you want and who you're currently being.
Now question number three.
To really locate that mismatch.
Now ask yourself,
What is the identity of the person who has what I want.
So if your goal was already accomplished,
If you already achieved the outcome you desire,
Who would that person be?
Be specific.
And lastly,
Question number four.
What is one small action I can take daily that reinforces that identity?
Nothing big or outlandish.
Actually,
The tinier,
The better,
Because you're not trying to become someone overnight.
You're just defining and committing.
To one identity and then taking one small aligned action every day.
Because remember,
The life you want doesn't really begin When your goals get accomplished,
Or when that outcome finally arrives.
Because let's face it,
There will always be another goal to chase.
Instead,
The life you want begins the moment you stop chasing and focusing on the outcome,
And start practicing the self.
Who can live it.
So my only question for you now is.
.
.
What are you waiting for?
Thanks for watching today.
I'll see you in the next video.
