So the law of attraction says.
.
.
Like attracts like.
That if you want to change your life,
You have to become an energetic match to that new experience.
And to become that match,
You have to shift your identity.
You have to become the type of person who lives it.
And if you've happened to listen to the last few recordings in this series,
We explored that Identity shifting is not really about becoming someone new,
But remembering who you are.
Not as inventing a better self,
But uncovering the self that has already been here.
And how constant self-improvement can keep us preparing for our future life instead of consciously participating in the one we have right now.
And that brings us to the deeper layer of this work.
Something I call manifestation through authenticity.
So here's the question I want you to sit with today.
What if manifesting the life you want.
.
.
Is simply a matter of becoming more authentic.
That is in the heartbeat beneath this work of self-return.
Because what we call manifestation.
.
.
Spirituality,
And every tool we use to become,
Achieve,
And self-discover is ultimately pointing us back to the same yearning.
Radical,
Unapologetic.
Authenticity.
So like many,
Manifestation was the first doorway that put me on to a spiritual path.
The Law of Attraction.
The books on Reality Transurfing,
The endless YouTube videos,
Quantum Jumping,
Back in the day,
I was like a kid in a candy store.
And it's easy to see why this work captivates people.
You move from bystander consciousness,
Where life happens to you,
Into manifester consciousness.
Where you begin to see yourself as a conscious creator of reality.
That immediately feels empowering,
Especially when you realize you've been living most of your life on autopilot.
But from there,
A lot of mainstream manifestation starts to sound like this.
Become more magnetic.
Raise your vibration.
Clear all your energetic blocks.
Understand your sacred patterns of geometry.
Shift into the most exuberant,
Keeled,
Abundant,
Glossier version of yourself who already has everything you want.
Now I say a lot of that tongue in cheek.
But I don't know about you,
But I'm exhausted just saying all that.
And maybe those ideas hold weight for many people.
But for one,
It's not actionable.
Telling someone to just raise your vibration is about as helpful as me telling my dog,
Jackson,
To go clean the bathroom.
What does someone do with that?
What do you do on a Tuesday afternoon when you're anxious,
Triggered,
And want to crawl into a hole?
But all jokes aside,
The deeper issue is that manifestation turns into another form of image management.
You start trying to look more aligned.
Appear more spiritual,
Or sound more woke?
You start subconsciously asking yourself how to become the version who finally gets picked,
Approved of,
Applauded,
Or gains influence.
And in the digital world we live in,
That quickly turns into,
How do I use my awakening into conscious creation to become the next spiritual internet sensation?
That's where spiritual awakening,
Something meant to wake us up.
And put the pulse back in our veins stops bringing you back to yourself and becomes spiritual theater And the cost of that theater is that you start thinking you need to become someone more impressive before life can meet you.
So you hide your uncertainty,
Your grief,
Your intensity.
Your so-called quirks.
Your true desires.
And what you actually value.
The pace,
Path,
And personality that makes you who you are at your core get dimmed and then you try to manifest from a self that's been edited.
But that version is nothing more than a sanitized identity you slip into to keep up with what everyone else is doing.
And you can't create anything meaningful or fulfilling in your life by abandoning the very things that make you tick.
This is where identity shifting becomes identity honesty.
Identity shifting is the method.
It explains how manifestation happens.
To create a different life,
Something in your state of being has to change.
But Identity Honesty explains why it finally works by asking,
Is the identity I'm trying to shift into actually true enough for me to live from?
Because the one thing every manifestation teaching agrees on is that the name of the game is embodiment.
Which is how identity shifts become real.
So that means anything you're unwilling to be honest about.
You're also unwilling to fully embody.
So sure,
You can try to become a new you to get what you want,
But if that identity does not fit your actual body,
Your temperament,
Your values,
And your actual real life.
You will not be able to live as that person for long.
The universe,
God,
The quantum field,
High vibes,
The chakras,
Or whatever other mysterious force you believe that can affect physical reality doesn't respond to who we wish we were,
It responds to the self we're willing to inhabit consistently.
And consistency does not come from pretending.
It comes from what is real and naturally alive inside you.
Embodiment is not the idea of who you are.
It's your willingness to live as that self in real time.
But authenticity doesn't mean being more raw,
Vulnerable,
Or dumping your feelings onto the world for the sake of being your true self.
This is instead about,
Who am I?
When I'm not trying to manage how I appear.
Whoever that person is,
That is the self that wants to come out and play.
And when it does.
.
.
Your decisions become simpler.
Taking action gets easier.
You stop needing to hype yourself into alignment.
And quite frankly,
You can give a damn what everyone else is doing.
Your inner truth.
Your body,
Your identity.
And your choices all move in the same direction.
And to that coherence.
Not hype.
Is what allows momentum to build.
But when your identity is not authentic,
Yeah,
You may feel inspired at times.
You might experience a momentary shift during meditation or feel energized after reading something or watching something illuminating.
But inevitably,
Real life returns and the same familiar playbook runs.
Something triggers you.
Your nervous system tightens.
Old reactions take over.
Your actions start to feel forced again.
And you're left wondering what you're doing wrong.
The high vibes be gone.
This is not a right technique problem.
You're trying to sustain an identity your body does not believe in.
Because if the future version of you demands that you hide your truth,
Override your body,
Replicate someone else's values,
Your system will resist it.
But even if it didn't,
What's the point?
Isn't the point of this whole self-improvement thing really about being more expressed and freer?
To wake up every day with your blood stinging at the mere thought of being you?
You to show up fully comfortable in your own skin,
No matter the situation.
Your future self.
Is not meant just to be better.
It's meant to be truer.
Your greater self is not meant just to be more successful,
Smarter,
Or more abundant.
It's the self that embodies a willingness to live what has already been trying to emerge through you.
Because underneath all the charades,
Something in us always knows,
This is not me.
There's a beautiful line from verse 20 of the Tao Te Ching which has become like my unofficial mantra for manifestation through authenticity.
And it says,
Must you value what others value,
Avoid what others avoid?
How ridiculous.
That line gets right to how a performative identity gets built in the first place.
Not from your desires.
We may think we're manifesting from what we truly want,
But many times we're actually trying to manifest what we were taught to value.
The life that looks good on paper.
The body that has to be a certain shape.
The business that proves your worth.
The online identity that makes you feel important.
But desire itself is not the problem.
The problem begins when you build your identity around values that never really belong to you.
You will keep chasing desires around other people's values.
And if your desires then become borrowed,
The identity you build around those desires will also become borrowed.
And while you may get closer to the things you want,
You will still feel far away from yourself.
So the question to start with.
.
.
Do my desires truly belong to me?
Or do they belong to wanting to belong?
Most people go their entire lives never asking such a question.
Because it's just all too easy to repeat a life we're not even sure that we chose.
So ask the question honestly.
As the Tao says.
Must you value?
What other people value.
Avoid.
What they avoid.
Or is there a life underneath all that that actually belongs to you?
There's a phrase from kundalini yoga,
Satnam,
Which means truth is my identity,
Not approval is my identity.
Not the impressive version of me is my identity.
Not,
I finally feel worthy,
Is my identity.
Truth is my identity.
That is the essence of manifestation through authenticity.
That is the heartbeat of returning to self.
If we take it back to the question I posed at the top.
What if manifesting the life you want?
Is simply a matter of becoming more authentic.
Sit with that.
Be with that.
Sat Naam,
Truth,
Is my identity.
The work is to recover that self.
And that's where we're headed next.
Because in order to do that,
The first step is to face all the false layers that have been covering it up.
We'll begin that work in Part 7.
Talk to you then.
Stay tuned.
