Hey,
Inside Timer.
Welcome back to Sessions With Self.
And in this week's stream of consciousness for the spiritual path,
I want to talk to you about having bad days or bad weeks.
As I sit here on a Sunday reflecting on the week I just had,
Which was one of the more difficult ones I can remember in recent memory,
It was challenging on all levels.
Professionally,
There's a lot of changes going on in my business,
In some of my relationships.
So this week was really a whirlwind of emotion,
Of anxiety,
Of frustration,
And even anger at times.
And as I sit here reflecting back on this week,
I just keep going back to this notion of everything that is happening to you is happening for your greatest good.
And that has been my life raft this week.
Yesterday I had a really bad bout of anxiety to the point where I just had to go lay in bed,
Put the covers over me,
And just feel into my breathing and just brace myself and comfort myself and allow the unpleasant emotions,
Allow the anxiety come over,
Allow the negative thoughts,
And really feel into them.
Feel into the worry,
The self-doubt,
The fear,
The uncertainty that has built up throughout the week.
But in doing that,
I found a sense of comfort.
And that's really what that statement of everything that is happening to you is happening for your greatest good is really all about.
When we embrace ourselves with love during moments of disarray in our lives and when we're experiencing unpleasant emotions,
We comfort ourselves and we begin to find trust.
And that's what my message is today.
Trust the unknown.
Trust that when things are falling apart,
That the pieces are merely signposts to guide you to a better path.
It's ultimately for your benefit.
And at times this week,
I was able to do that.
Yes,
Many unknowns lie ahead,
But becoming present in myself,
Bringing consciousness to the disarray of emotions happening inside of me,
Accepting the anxiety allows me to connect back with the trust that everything is working out for me as it may.
And it may not seem that on face value on the surface level,
But I can trust that it is.
And so can you.
So today I urge you to allow yourself to feel uncomfortable,
To embrace any discomfort you are experiencing in your life right now,
Just for a few moments.
So just settle into your body,
Close your eyes if you want to,
And just breathe.
Just breathe and know that you're alive today.
Because that's all that matters right here,
Right now.
If you had a bad week,
If you had a bad day,
If you're going through a rough time right now,
All you really have to do right now is just breathe.
Just be as you are.
Breathe into the discomfort.
Breathe into the unpleasantness.
Feel the sensations in your body and just breathe into all of it.
And just comfort yourself.
Maybe place your hand on your heart,
Almost as if you're literally embracing yourself.
And just know that everything that is happening in your life right now is happening for your greatest good.
Even if you can't see it,
Everything,
Every single thing is happening for your greatest good.
And you're alive today.
And that's all that really matters.
And you can take refuge in that.
And you can find peace in that truth alone.
You have eyes that can see.
You have legs that can walk.
Two hands that can grasp.
You have a heart beating right now full of truth and love that can send that energy up to your brain.
And your brain can take that energy,
Can take that signal of love and truth and turn it into an idea,
An insight.
And then that can come down from the top of your head through your mouth as words,
As language,
As sounds.
How amazing is that?
This truth is there.
This truth is there,
My friends.
This love is there.
And it is your refuge during times of despair.
Take refuge in that.
Find your love in that.
So I invite you to spend a few moments just lingering in this right now,
Comforting yourself,
Connecting with the love inside you,
Connecting with that truth of your heart,
Connecting with trust.
And just know at any point in your week ahead or in your day ahead when things get overwhelming,
You become stressed or life is just not giving you what you want and you're feeling alone,
You can come back to this at any point,
Even if it means running to your bed like I did and throwing the covers over your head and just breathing,
Just remembering you're alive.
It's always there.
This truth is always there.
This trust that everything is happening for your greatest good is always there.
Until next time,
Friends,
Thanks for sharing this journey with me.
The light in me dearly honors the light in you.
