Consciously creating your life begins with the questions you ask yourself,
And the richness and depth of your life experience is a reflection of the richness and depth of the questions you repeatedly explore.
Hey there friend,
Thanks for joining me.
My name is Anthony.
And in this session,
I want to share with you four end of day reflections that you can contemplate every night before you are ready to go to sleep.
You can use them as journaling prompts,
Or you can just sit in meditation and contemplate these questions a few minutes before retiring for the evening,
Or even while you're lying in bed before you're about to drift off to sleep.
I have found that by reflecting on our daily experiences at the end of the day,
You can gain a deeper understanding of yourself,
And unlock insights for your own growth and for living a more purposeful life that you might have missed otherwise as you're going about your daily life.
These reflections that I'm going to guide you through are simple,
But can truly be transformative,
Helping you stay aligned to what really matters to you,
And moving you closer to the person you desire to be every day.
But ultimately,
This exercise is really a hack for your subconscious mind to experience one positive day after another,
Where you're feeling energized,
Excited,
Grateful,
And purposeful.
And I say that because what you focus on always grows.
What you consistently put your attention on is what you attract more of in your reality.
And what you frequently acknowledge and wonder about become the seedlings to future insights and answers.
So whenever you're ready,
Just find a comfortable position,
Whatever feels good right now.
Ideally,
You're listening to this at the end of the day right now.
Go check in with your body and give it what it needs.
If you're heading to sleep soon,
Give in to your body's need to rest right now,
And allow it to just wind down like it wants to.
Maybe feel into your whole body for a few seconds.
Put your whole awareness on your entire being.
Give it a little squeeze,
Feeling into as much as you can notice.
Just extend some gratitude to it for everything it allowed you to do throughout the day today.
All the things you saw,
All the ways you moved your body,
Everything you were able to participate in and work on,
All the ways you were able to interact with others.
Just send some loving appreciation to your body.
Also,
Give some gratitude to yourself for being here after what maybe felt like a long day.
Maybe it was a difficult day.
But you chose to be here for yourself.
Right before you were about to say goodbye to this day,
You took the time to check in with yourself.
And for that alone,
Give yourself some gratitude here for showing up once again for you.
So,
Our first question is a beautiful question.
It comes from my mentor,
Vishen Lakhiani.
And it's one of my all-time favorite reflections.
What magic did I witness today?
Every day the world is filled with wonders waiting to be noticed.
Even on the worst days,
There is beauty.
There is beauty all around us,
Friends.
But what moments today sparked awe?
What moments today sparked joy?
What moments today sparked awe and inspiration for you?
What moments delighted you?
But it doesn't have to be grandiose or extraordinary.
It could be as simple as a smile from a stranger,
With the scent of blooming flowers.
Or maybe a random act of kindness.
What little things brought a smile to your face?
The more we acknowledge the magic we witness in our lives,
The more we train our minds to focus on joy,
Positivity,
And wonder.
And thus,
The more magic we will experience.
We invite more enchantment into our lives.
And that's the trick.
If we selectively choose to recall moments where we experience any positive emotion or elevated state of being,
We increase the probability of experiencing them again and again and again.
So where was the magic for you today?
Now,
Our second reflection.
How did I serve others today?
How did I serve others today?
Sometimes,
We lose sight of the fact that living a fulfilling life goes beyond personal achievements and truly involves touching the lives of others and making some type of positive impact in the world.
So,
How did you contribute to the world today?
So,
How did you contribute to the world today?
Who did you interact with?
Maybe you extended a helping hand to a co-worker,
Lent your ear to a friend,
And offered support.
Maybe you helped your child with their homework.
Again,
It can be the tiniest thing.
The other day,
I watched from my window as my neighbor brought in my garbage cans as they were rolling around in the middle of the street.
I found that to be really kind and thoughtful.
So it's not just the big ways in which we contribute,
But it's also the tiny acts of kindness,
Goodness,
And service that go a long way and benefit the people around us.
Conscious contribution truly has a ripple effect,
Even if we can't spot it.
But by asking ourselves how we served others throughout the day,
We can shift our focus from self-centeredness to compassion and empathy.
We can shift our focus from self-centeredness to compassion and empathy.
So how did you serve others today?
Now for our third question.
We are going to inspire ourselves to grow and evolve in the most non-judgmental and loving manner by asking,
What could I have done better today?
The key words here are non-judgmental and loving.
What could I have done better today?
This question is not about lamenting our actions,
Beating ourselves up,
Or ending our day in regret.
But rather,
It's prompting us to take ownership of our actions and raise our awareness to see if we are making conscious choices that embody the highest version of ourselves.
So another way you can look at this question is,
How could I have been more conscious today?
How could I have been more awake for my life?
So scan your day and consider your interactions,
The decisions you made,
Your habits and behaviors.
Is there one thing you could have handled differently or improved upon?
What from today didn't align with the person you want to be?
Again,
It's about self-awareness,
Insight,
And growth.
That is your goal here.
Now for our final question.
What made me become most alive today?
What made me feel purposeful,
Fulfilled,
And aligned with my truth?
What made me light up from the inside?
What moments did I feel connected to my spirit?
What moments did I feel connected to my heart?
What moments did I feel connected to my soul?
What moments did I feel connected to my spirit?
Sometimes moments like these,
Where we feel so in touch with our truth,
Happen out of nowhere throughout our day.
And we don't even realize it because we are in flow.
We are so hyper-present while we are in them.
And that's a beautiful thing in the way it should be.
Because we are so alive in the present,
And because these moments are so fleeting and maybe miniscule,
We don't consciously acknowledge them.
But these are the moments that matter.
These are the moments we yearn to have more of.
These are flashing lights,
Nudges from our soul,
Letting us know that what we are doing or where we are right now resonates with the essence of who we really are.
Can you recall such moments and how they made you feel?
As you do,
Take a snapshot of these moments,
No matter how tiny or fleeting they were,
And tell your body to memorize the feeling,
And tell your brain to prioritize them,
And to direct more of your attention on them.
How did you come alive today?
Now,
Let's just linger in gratitude again,
And give thanks for this entire day you just reflected on.
For everything you just acknowledged,
All the magic you witnessed,
All the tiny moments of joy and purpose,
For all the ways you utilized your gifts,
For what you learned,
All the insights you gained,
And quite simply,
For all that you have the privilege of experiencing during this day.
And the chance to experience a brand new one in a brand new way tomorrow.
What a gift.
Take a deep breath into your heart.
Give some love to yourself.
Send it out to the people in your life,
The entire planet,
And to all of the universe.
I am so grateful to you for sharing your evening with me,
And joining me for this exercise.
Remember,
Your mind will always give you more of what you focus on.
So by continually reminding it of the person you want to be,
And the life you want to lead,
Through the questions you ask yourself,
You will have no other choice than to lead you to your destiny.
Much love.
