Hi,

This is Aidan,

And welcome.

If you've come here tonight with a busy mind or a heavy heart,

You are in exactly the right place.

Think of this session as a gentle invitation to set down the weight of the day.

We'll use the steady,

Calming rhythm of the ocean tide to guide your breath and your mind into a state of deep,

Restful sleep.

There's nothing you need to figure out,

Nothing you need to hold on to.

Simply find a comfortable position,

Close your eyes when you're ready,

And let the waves of calm begin.

The sound of water has soothed human hearts for thousands of years.

The rhythm of the tide whispers to your body,

You are safe,

All is well.

Tonight,

That rhythm will become your rhythm.

So take a moment to settle,

Feel the surface beneath you supporting your whole body.

Let your arms and legs rest where they naturally fall.

Make any last little adjustments you need,

And then let your blankets hold you like a gentle embrace.

Allow yourself to be supported.

And now,

Begin to notice your body.

Take a soft breath in,

And as you exhale,

Release your jaw.

And with the next breath out,

Let your shoulders melt down,

Releasing any burdens they carried.

And with the next,

Let your whole body grow heavy.

Sinking softly into the surface below.

This is your time.

Time to unplug,

Time to rest.

Tonight is for the tide.

The journey into sleep begins with a single breath.

Matched to the oldest rhythm in the world.

Listen now to the sound of the waves.

That gentle push,

That soft pull.

This is the sound of letting go.

Let's connect your breath to the rhythm of the ocean.

No effort,

No forcing,

Just allowing.

As the wave comes in,

Let that be your inhale.

A slow,

Easy breath,

Filling your lungs.

As the wave recedes,

Let that be your exhale.

A long,

Complete release.

Breathing in,

Calm and stillness.

Breathing out,

Release and surrender.

Each inhale,

A wave of new energy washing through you.

Each exhale,

A wave carrying away fatigue,

Thoughts and tension.

The rhythm of your breath and the rhythm of the tide begin to change.

To merge.

The wave comes in and you breathe in.

The wave goes out and you breathe out.

Notice the pause at the top of the breath,

Like the crest of a wave.

Notice the quiet at the bottom of the breath,

Like the ocean's stillness before the next tide.

This simple rhythm is a lullaby for your body and your mind.

If thoughts arise,

Let them drift away like pieces of driftwood.

Return gently to the tide.

Inhale as the wave approaches.

Exhale as it returns to the deep.

Let the tide breathe you.

Let go.

As you continue breathing with the tide,

A picture forms in your mind.

You're on a quiet beach at twilight.

The sky glows with soft lavender and deep indigo.

The sand beneath your feet is warm and grounding.

You are safe here.

The ocean stretches out before you.

Calm and endless.

Gentle waves roll in,

Their crests silvered by moonlight.

The air is cool,

Carrying the clean scent of the sea.

The first stars appear,

One by one.

The moon casts a silvery path across the water,

Leading directly to you.

You step forward,

Letting a foamy wave glide over your feet.

The water is cool,

Freshing.

As it recedes,

It carries away the tiredness of the day.

Another wave rises,

Washing higher,

Soothing your legs,

Leaving you lighter,

Calmer,

Renewed.

You find a place to lie down on the sand.

It forms a natural cradle beneath you,

Supporting you completely.

Above you,

The sky is filled with stars.

Beneath you,

The earth holds you steady.

Around you,

The ocean sings.

You are safe.

You are calm.

Now,

Imagine a gentle tide of moonlit water washing over you,

Carrying relaxation through your whole body.

It begins at your toes,

Flowing into your feet,

Washing away the day's weight.

The tide rises to your ankles and calves.

Soothing and softening every muscle.

It moves into your knees and thighs,

Releasing all effort,

Leaving your legs heavy and relaxed.

The tide flows into your hips and pelvis,

Dissolving deep tension.

You sink deeper into the sand,

Secure and supported.

It rises up your spine,

Vertebra by vertebra,

Washing through your back,

Smoothing away all tightness.

It flows into your chest,

Softening your heart.

Into your belly,

Allowing it to be soft,

Easy,

Free.

The tide reaches your arms and hands,

Melting away every last trace of holding on.

It rises over your shoulders,

Lifting the weight you carried all day,

And carries it out to sea.

Finally,

The wave washes over your face and head.

Your jaw unclenches,

Your eyes rest,

Your forehead smooths.

From the crown of your head to the tips of your toes,

You are bathed in peace.

Your whole body is now floating in an ocean of calm.

Your body is deeply relaxed now,

And your mind can drift even deeper.

Any thoughts that appear are like clouds moving across the moon.

They come,

And then they go.

They drift on their own,

Needing no attention.

Or perhaps they are pieces of driftwood,

Carried gently out to sea by the tide.

They arrive,

And then they are carried away.

No effort required,

Just a gentle noticing.

And a gentle letting go.

You are not the clouds.

You are not the driftwood.

You are the vast,

Steady sky.

You are the deep,

Quiet ocean.

And with each breath,

You are floating further into that quiet.

Imagine yourself resting in a calm,

Sheltered lagoon.

The water is warm,

Silky,

Perfectly supporting you.

You are safe here,

Supported completely.

You can let go of every muscle,

Every thought,

Every effort.

Feel how the water lifts you slightly with each breath in,

And lowers you gently with each breath out.

Inhale,

Rising.

Exhale,

Lowering.

Over and over,

In the same rhythm as the tide.

With every rise,

You are lighter,

Freer.

With every fall,

You are calmer,

More at peace.

And as you float,

You notice a gentle current beneath you.

A current that draws you softly,

Outward,

Away from the shore.

You don't have to move.

You don't have to try.

The current does the work for you,

Carrying you further and further into stillness,

Into quiet,

Into peace.

Perhaps you imagine the coastline behind you.

Growing smaller,

Fainter,

Until it is just a distant outline.

Ahead of you,

Only the vast horizon,

Wide and calm.

The farther you drift,

The softer the world becomes,

The quieter the world becomes.

The more peaceful you feel,

Every sound behind you becomes softer now,

Farther away.

Every thought behind you becomes lighter now,

Less important.

You are floating,

Drifting,

Carried gently into deeper calm.

And,

If you like,

You may imagine gentle numbers counting you down,

As though each one is another wave carrying you further.

Ten,

Drifting deeper.

Nine,

Letting go.

Eight,

Lighter,

Calmer.

Seven,

Even more at ease.

Six,

Safe and supported.

Five,

Floating still.

Drifting in perfect peace.

There is nowhere else to be,

Nothing else to do.

Only this moment,

Only this deep,

Timeless,

This is the gateway to sleep.

The soft border between waking and dreaming.

The gentle surrender into rest.

And as you float here,

Safe and supported,

Notice that the ocean is not only soothing you,

But also strengthening you.

The tide is endlessly patient,

Endlessly powerful.

Just as it shapes the shore,

Smoothing every stone and softening every edge,

It also strengthens you,

Quietly and steadily,

From within.

With every wave,

You can feel its resilience.

The tide always returns,

No matter how far it travels.

And just like the tide,

You,

Too,

Have the ability to rise again and again.

Gentle,

Steady,

Unstoppable.

With every wave,

You can feel its calm strength.

The ocean doesn't need to rush,

It doesn't need to prove its power.

Its strength is quiet,

Constant,

And unshakable.

And as you rest here,

That quiet strength is flowing into you,

Becoming part of you.

With every wave,

You can feel its renewal.

No two waves are ever the same.

Each one is fresh,

Each one is new.

And just as the tide brings renewal to the shore,

So,

Too,

Are you renewed,

Moment by moment,

Breath by breath.

Resilient,

Resilient.

Let those words ripple through you,

Each one settling deeper,

Becoming part of your natural rhythm.

And notice how,

Even as you rest,

The tide continues its work.

Soothing,

Strengthening,

Renewing.

Slowly,

Quietly,

Effortlessly,

Unendingly.

You don't need to do anything,

You don't need to try.

The ocean is within you,

And it knows exactly what to do.

Even in stillness,

There is strength.

Even in rest,

There is renewal.

Even in softness,

There is power.

These truths are carried in the rhythm of the tide,

And now,

They are carried in you.

As you drift deeper into rest,

These qualities remain,

Flowing through your body and mind like a gentle current.

Tomorrow,

You may notice a greater ease,

A steadier,

Calm,

A quiet confidence that rises naturally like the tide.

But for now,

You can simply let go and be carried,

Knowing that the strength of the ocean is yours,

Always.

The tide has washed the shore clean.

Your breath has calmed your body and your mind.

And now,

The journey drifts to its natural end.

An end that is really just a beginning.

The beginning of deep,

Nourishing sleep.

It is safe to let go now,

Safe to drift,

Safe to rest completely.

You've done all you needed to do today.

There is nothing left to carry,

Nothing left to hold.

Everything can be set down,

Just as the tide leaves the shore smooth and clear.

You are safe.

You are supported.

You are being carried.

The way the water carries each wave,

The way the earth holds the ocean,

The way the night holds the stars,

Feel that support now.

Feel the ocean within you,

Its resilience,

Steady and calm,

Its quiet strength,

Powerful and unshakable,

Its renewal fresh with every breath,

Fresh with every moment of rest.

Even in stillness,

There is strength.

Even in rest,

There is renewal.

Even in softness,

There is power.

And as you sink deeper into sleep,

Those qualities remain.

Strength flowing in your breath,

Calm flowing in your heartbeat,

Renewal flowing in your dreams.

There is nothing more to do,

Nothing more to think about.

The ocean will keep watch over you tonight,

Its rhythm steady,

Its presence constant,

Its song a guardian of peace.

Let my voice drift into the background now,

Let it become part of the sound of the waves,

Nothing to focus on,

Nothing to follow,

Just the tide,

Just the waves.

Let them carry you further and further away,

Into the quiet,

Into the stillness,

Into the depths of sleep.

Sleep now,

The ocean is here.

Sleep now,

You are safe.

Sleep now,

The tide holds you.

Drifting,

Sinking,

Floating,

Resting,

Deeper and deeper,

Deeper and deeper,

Into calm,

Into peace,

Into sleep.
