Hello and welcome to the love your body meditation.
When you're ready,
Go ahead and find a nice comfortable position.
Maybe that's an upright posture.
If so,
Be sure to keep your back and neck and head all straight.
Rest your hands on your lap or on your knees,
Wherever feels most comfortable and natural.
And when you're ready,
Go ahead and close your eyes.
This is a time for you so bring your attention to your breath.
Keep total awareness on this present moment.
Feel your breath flow in through the nostrils,
Filling the lungs,
And then feeling the breath flow out through the nostrils as the belly contracts again.
Use the breath as the center of your attention.
Breathing in deeply and breathing out slowly.
Breathing in,
Feel the breath traveling in and releasing the breath out slowly and gently.
Allow all tension and discomfort to begin to melt away.
Let go of all that's no longer serving you in this moment with that breath.
Breathing in,
Following the breath for an entire duration of an inhale and breathing out,
Following the breath for the entire duration of your exhale.
No rushing,
No pushing.
Just allow yourself to fully experience the breaths as they come.
Notice any urge to rush and let that go.
Our bodies are so very special and we all have a nurturing love inside of us.
It's important to open up our heart centers and extend the gratitude we hold for the way our bodies support us,
For the way our bodies heal us,
For the way the body keeps us alive to experience the joys of life.
Bring your attention to your chest,
Noticing the gentle rise and fall as you breathe,
Feeling your heart beating in harmonious rhythm with your breath and extend your gratitude towards this breath and this heartbeat.
Extend your gratitude to your arms,
Bringing your attention all the way down to your fingertips,
Connecting with all the muscles along the way and appreciating your arms for allowing you to embrace all that life unravels for you with love and compassion.
Think of everything that your hands and arms do for you and give gratitude.
Moving your attention down to the belly,
The core of the body,
Feeling the strong muscles that are here to help you move through life soundly and strongly,
Giving gratitude for your digestive system and all your organs,
Your blood running through your veins,
All the little things that we take for granted.
Maybe it feels natural if it's not there yet to allow a soft smile to come across your face as you continue to acknowledge the wonderful and amazing body that you have.
Now move your attention down to your legs and feet.
Feel the strong muscles here that help you walk through life,
Connecting with your feet and your legs,
Appreciating every muscle for what it allows you to do each day.
Now extend gratitude for your whole body for the way it holds you up and strengthens you on your special path through life,
Thinking of everything your body does for you,
This beautiful home and vehicle you have to live your life.
Take a couple of deep breaths here,
Appreciating your body just the way it is,
Feeling grateful for all it does and sending love to your body now.
During this practice,
You may have experienced some critical thoughts.
You may have noticed your mind drifting to judgment.
And if so,
Just take a moment to return to those places where appreciation was a challenge and just sit with those areas in compassion and loving kindness.
Know that the more you do this practice,
The easier this will become.
Now allow your mind to rest and come back to your gentle breath.
Stretch and hug your body,
Begin to move it sway side to side,
Anything that feels delicious to you right now.
And allow these feelings of kindness,
Compassion and gratitude to remain with you for the rest of the day.
When you're ready,
You can open your eyes.
Thank you for joining me.
Be kind and loving to your body as you move through the rest of your day,
Sending you lots of love.
