Hi my friend,
I'm so glad you're here.
This practice is a gentle invitation to meet your inner child,
To hold space for the parts of you that still long to be seen and heard.
Let's take a moment to settle into a place where you won't be disturbed.
Let your body soften,
Let your breath arrive just as it is,
There's nothing to fix or to change right now.
Now you can close your eyes if it feels safe,
Maybe place a hand on your heart or let them land in your lap or rest your hands wherever you feel comfortable.
As you settle down,
Let's take three deep breaths together,
Taking a deep breath in and as you exhale,
Release all the tension,
Starting from your crown area,
Moving on to your eyes,
Your jaw,
Your neck and your shoulders.
Now let's take another deep breath in and with this exhale,
Release all the tension in your arms,
In your chest,
In your belly and your pelvic muscles.
Now let's take another deep breath in and with this last exhale,
Let's release all the tensions in your hips,
Your thighs,
Your calves and your shins and finally your feet.
Now we can let go of the breath and just feel the sensations in our body and coming back into this moment,
Finding safety within and just pausing here for a few seconds.
Now gently bring to your mind the home that you grew up in,
Take your time,
Let the memory guide your steps,
Walk slowly through it like you're visiting an old friend,
Notice the color of the walls,
The floor.
Now slowly walk up to the room where you spent most of your time as a little child,
Maybe it's your bedroom,
A living room or a spot by the window.
Slowly walk towards it and when you're ready,
Slowly walk into that room or into that spot,
You'll find your younger self there.
Now just pause here,
Stand at a little distance,
Just watch them with a smile on your face,
Let them feel your calm presence,
Let them notice you and feel safe in your presence.
Now if they seem ready,
Slowly stretch your hand and let them come to you in their own time,
There's no rush.
When they come closer,
Hold their hand,
Feel the warmth and feel the memory in your palms.
Now if they feel ready,
Ask them,
What are you feeling right now my love,
What's hurting They may not speak and that's okay,
But you'll know the answer,
You've always known.
Now if it feels right,
Wrap them in a gentle hug,
Hold them close to you,
Like you wish someone had held you when you were little.
Let the hug say all the words you couldn't say back then to them.
Placing a loving hand on your heart,
Softly speak to yourself,
I'm here now,
You are not alone anymore,
I will never let you go through that again,
We have better boundaries now and I know how to protect you.
Stay here for a few breaths,
Feel your heartbeat with theirs,
And when you feel complete,
Give them one more hug,
Tell them you'll return whenever they need you,
Because you will.
Now slowly step back,
Look at their face,
See the softness,
The ease,
The beginning of safety.
Give a soft smile and gently walk out of the room.
As you leave,
Carry that warmth with you.
Now gently bring your awareness back to the present moment,
Back to your breath,
Feel the ground beneath you,
Wiggle your fingers and your toes when you feel ready,
And slowly open your eyes.
Thank you so much for doing this practice,
You can come back to this space anytime you need,
Your inner child is always waiting for you and now you know how to reach them.
Thank you for joining in,
Thank you for being here,
Have a beautiful rest of the day.
Take care.
