Welcome to the Still Point,
A meditation for after the meal,
Releasing guilt and finding stillness.
You've done something important.
You've nourished yourself and if that feels heavy,
Uncomfortable or loud in your mind right now,
You're not alone.
This is your space to pause,
To remember.
You don't have to fix what you've eaten.
You only need to be here with care.
So,
Let your body settle into a comfortable position,
Whether you're still at the table or you've moved somewhere quieter.
Let your hands rest softly,
Maybe over your tummy,
Your heart or by your sides,
Wherever feels most comforting.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in through your nose and then a long,
Steady exhale out through your mouth.
Let's do that again.
Inhale,
Creating space.
Exhale,
Releasing tension.
Now,
Gently bring awareness to your body.
Notice any sensations,
Fullness,
Warmth,
Tightness or even numbness.
There's no right way to feel after eating.
If discomfort is present,
Whisper to yourself,
I'm safe after nourishment.
My body knows what to do with this food.
I don't need to earn or undo care.
Picture,
If you can,
A safe space forming around you.
Maybe it's a cozy room,
A sunlit meadow or simply a soft,
Calming light wrapping around your body.
This is your reminder.
You are not in danger.
You are not in trouble.
You are cared for,
Even by yourself.
If the guilt starts to rise,
Gently place it outside of you for now.
You can imagine setting it down beside you,
Like a heavy bag you don't have to carry right now.
Let's take another deep breath.
Inhale through your nose.
Notice how your body feels supported by the surface beneath you.
The world didn't end because you ate.
In fact,
You just gave your body exactly what it needed to keep you going.
Now,
Repeat softly in your mind or out loud,
I deserve to be nourished.
I choose stillness over punishment.
This moment is proof that I can care for myself.
As we start to close,
Wiggle your fingers,
Your toes.
Feel yourself anchored in this present moment.
Know that the urges will pass.
Guilt will fade,
But the act of nourishing yourself,
That's a victory that stays.
You are safe.
You are worthy,
And you can rest now.
Thank you.
