Welcome to the Still Point,
A meditation for body gratitude beyond appearance.
If you're here,
Your relationship with your body may feel tender right now.
You may be caught in the noise of judgment,
Comparison,
Self-criticism.
This,
Now,
Is your time to soften the noise and come home to what your body truly is.
Not an ornament,
Not an object,
But a vessel.
Let's begin by finding stillness.
You can sit or lie down.
Just let your body be supported.
You can close your eyes if that feels safe,
Or just lower your gaze.
Take a deep breath in through your nose and a long,
Steady breath out through your mouth.
Let your breath begin to anchor you.
Now,
Bring your attention to the top of your head and slowly begin to scan down,
Inviting curiosity,
Not judgment.
Your eyes,
Whether or not they see clearly,
They help you take in light,
Color,
Connection.
Your ears,
They take in the world.
Music,
Laughter,
Your own mouth.
It lets you speak truth,
Ask for help,
And yes,
Savor food.
Now,
Move to your chest.
Feel it rise and fall.
Your lungs have been breathing for you all day,
Without needing your permission.
Your heart,
Quiet and steady,
Beats for you every moment.
Move lower now,
To your belly.
This is where the nourishment is received,
Where food is turned into energy,
This is your body working,
Not failing.
Whether you walk,
Run,
Stretch,
Or rest,
They carry you through your life.
They've held you through hard moments.
They keep showing up,
Even when you're tired of fighting.
Your body is not an image or a picture.
It's a living system of care.
Even in pain,
It's still trying.
Even in discomfort,
It's doing its best to keep you alive.
Now,
Bring a hand to your heart,
If that feels okay.
Take one more deep breath in.
Gently repeat after me,
Silently or aloud,
Of how my body looks today.
But I can still honor what it does for me.
My body,
It's more than a shape.
It is a home.
A miracle in motion.
I don't need to shrink it to be worthy.
Right now,
I choose gratitude.
Even if it's just a little.
No need to force it.
Just allow it to hold some space.
Now,
When you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
Wiggle your fingers.
Take a little stretch,
If you'd like.
Take one last breath in and out.
Failing for struggling with this.
You are human.
Your body is still showing up for you.
