Hi there.
Are you ready for a little bit of a reset?
This yin yoga practice is going to be perfect for that.
We'll do a few poses and I just know you're going to leave the practice feeling more calm,
More centered,
More grounded.
So Milo the cat and I will see you in the video.
Welcome,
Welcome.
This is one of my shorter yin reset sessions.
Session.
So we'll spend about 30 minutes doing a few poses.
And I just really feel like it's such a great way to come back to yourself to let go of the past and the future and just be with your body.
And come away from it feeling maybe a little more grounded or peaceful.
So if you have props,
That's awesome.
If you don't,
No big deal.
You can improvise with,
I'm sure,
Things you have around your place where you are.
But if you do have some blocks and a bolster,
Maybe a blanket,
That's great.
So we'll just do a couple minutes of stillness and breathing.
Find a comfortable seat,
However that is for you.
And close down your eyes.
Unnaturally,
When we Invite this illness.
We want to take a deep breath,
So let's do that together.
Two more.
And we'll do three rounds of the physiological sigh.
This is two sips in through the nose and a long exhale through the mouth.
Ready?
Begin to move your head and neck really in any way that you think feels good.
Opening your eyes as you're ready.
How about taking a little twist to one side.
And to the other.
A little side stretch.
And a little sidestep.
If you've been sitting cross-legged,
Take a second to shake your legs out a little bit.
We are going to start our practice with a pose called straddle.
Sometimes it's called dragonfly.
And you'll want to sit up on something.
So I have this little pillow thing.
It's like kind of this flat pillow thing.
You haven't ever heard this before.
The reason we sit up on something is because when I slide off of it,
My pelvis is going to be tilting forward just a little bit.
And sometimes that just a little bit can help you become a little more comfortable and able to just be in the pose.
So this is it.
Without any props.
We are looking to feel sensation in the inner thighs here.
So however that can happen for you.
Another way to do it is more of a squat.
You can even do butterfly.
I was just thinking of having the legs not quite as bent.
Okay,
So lots of options for you.
You can even lean back into your hands.
I know that sometimes people feel a stretch even if they're leaning back into the hands.
But of course,
You're welcome to come forward a little bit.
I think that's what I do.
And simply arriving here.
Coming back to the purpose of the practice and that's to feel sensation.
While you're relaxing your muscles.
Just coming to the place where we feel a nice steady sensation happening.
And then comes the invitation to focus on the breath.
We aim for the breath to remain smooth,
Even and continuous.
You need to spend time,
Several minutes in each shape.
Or our tissues to reap the benefit.
And starting to release.
Can lean back into your hands and just allow the hips to relax.
Slowly and mindfully moving your body.
However you feel inspired to do that.
So nice.
Okay.
Now we'll work with a side stretch called banana pose.
You'll need something that your body can arch over.
So for me,
It's the bolster.
What is it for you kitty cat?
And then I'll be putting something for my head.
So of course,
Like a rolled up blanket or beach towel or a yoga mat with a blanket around it all great things that will work for this.
Then you thread your arm through.
And then I'm going to take a block overhead here.
So we're meant to feel a nice big stretch all along the side of the body.
I'll enjoy three minutes here.
You can also just rest your arm on your head.
Or keep it at your side.
Also be sure to check out moving around your legs that also really can accentuate the sensation.
I really encourage you to take some deep breaths here,
Making some space.
Stretching out all the.
.
.
Tiny muscles and.
.
.
Layers of tissue.
Think of it like filling your body with breath.
You've got one more minute,
Sir.
Can you feel one more big inhale with a nice long exhale?
Amazing.
I love back stroking my arm.
Sammy.
And then we're just gonna switch sides.
So,
I'm just gonna put my back to you instead of moving or anything.
Take some deep breaths once you get settled.
Good night.
And see if you can really feel all the places here that are receiving the stimulation of the stretch or the pressure.
The body ever so subtly elongating.
Can you sense the whole side of the body that's on the floor is really grounded?
One more minute with this one.
Fill your body up with breath one more time,
All the way to the top.
Moving around as you like before you come on into child's play.
I think I'm gonna take a few cat and cows before.
.
.
And really sink into my child's pose.
Really any child's pose that suits you.
Think of this practice like.
.
.
Just do it in whatever way lets you feel like you're pretty effortless.
Right,
Like you're feeling the stretches or the compressions like this one,
You might feel a lot in your hip joints,
Your knees,
Your ankles,
Maybe even your shoulders,
Depending on how your arms are.
Yeet.
I'll be here just a little longer.
And just take a moment to feel the palms of your hands on the floor.
Just imagining ultimately the earth beneath.
I'm fighting this energetic union.
Go ahead and press off and away.
Here you might just stretch out your legs.
Some people like to do a downward dog after child's paws.
We'll enjoy a twist next.
Go ahead and lie down on your back.
I like to put a little something under my head.
And if you'd like to try this certain twist,
It's called the twisted roots.
So you're going to take your left leg over your right,
And you can either pull up or you can do it from here.
And we're just dropping the legs.
For me personally,
That feels like a lot.
So I'm going to put my bolster here.
And ideally,
If you can,
You want to have your left shoulder and arm either on the floor or supported by a blanket or a pillow or something so it's not just like hanging there unsupported.
So the idea with doing this twist was to maybe feel like a little more sensation in the hip and the glutes.
You can really have your arms however you want.
Try to turn your head in the opposite direction of your legs.
This welcoming awareness of the palms and fingers again.
Imagining your hardworking hands completely relaxed.
Completely relax.
We got about one more minute here.
I always find that.
To adjust while you're still in the pose if you want to take it a little deeper or if your fingers are getting tingly move your hand Now I'll pull out.
I like when she'll bypass in between sides.
Okay,
So we'll check out the other side.
Staying really present,
Noticing the difference between sides.
Really aware of the level of sensation.
And then imagining the breath,
Especially the exhale,
As this softening.
Agent.
And here again,
We have one more minute.
One more breath.
I'm proud.
What a happy baby.
Maybe adding some rocks here.
Now we'll finish off our practice with a few minutes of Shavasana.
So make yourself comfortable.
Why don't you take a few deep breaths just as a ushering in of this intention of stillness for another couple minutes.
You Deepening your breath now.
Resting in Shavasana for as long as you like.
But if you're ready to move on with whatever's next.
Go ahead and start to stretch your arms and your legs.
Take your knees to your chest.
And if you'd like to,
You can join me upright and we'll close our session.
Be hands to your heart center.
May we send our bodies a silent word of appreciation.
And all the things we can do.
And appreciation towards ourselves for carving out time to regulate and restore.
And enhance our physical experience and our body-mind experience.
It's always my pleasure to share this practice with you.
Namaste.
Namaste.
I hope that you feel amazing.
And I look forward to meeting you once again somehow,
Somewhere.
