Good morning,
Good evening,
Good afternoon,
Wherever you may be,
Whatever you may be doing,
Hello.
Welcome and thank you for choosing to listen to this.
It's been a while since I've talked and I typically talk when I feel the inspiration to.
That's when I'll record one of these talks and this morning I woke up and the phrase this too shall pass came to mind.
It's something which I experience,
Well I've always experienced as I'm sure you have,
A feeling of insecurity,
Uncertainty,
Misalignment,
Anxiousness,
Whatever you want to call it.
And I had that,
You know I'm recording this on the 23rd of September 2025,
I had that yesterday.
I went into the day coming out of the weekend,
I had a great weekend with the family and I went into the Monday with a feeling of anxiousness and uncertainty and I know for a fact that when I started this journey that would have put me into,
I wouldn't necessarily a spiral but I'll say going down a rabbit hole and that rabbit hole was overwhelm,
Overthinking,
Over dramatization of all the woe that would have become me yesterday in that place and space.
However the thing which I've learnt over these last 5-6 years now is that phrase this too shall pass because it does,
It always does,
It always passes and again speaking solely for myself,
You know that,
You know my therapist from a few years ago said,
Sometimes you have to learn to sit in the beep and it's so true,
Going through the process of learning to sit in the bleep and we'll use discomfort,
To sit in the discomfort and to be okay sitting in the discomfort and realizing and knowing that this too shall pass was one of the greatest freedoms that was unlocked for me,
You know through this discomfort,
Not around it,
Not over it,
Not under it,
Through the discomfort on the other side comes growth.
The little that I have to say to you today is,
If you feel that anxiousness,
That misalignment,
That discomfort,
Try learning to sit with it,
Try learning to sit with it,
That doesn't mean meditating your way under it or distracting your way over it,
It means sitting with it and in the beginning it will be difficult but with time it will come and with time your ability and the confidence that you have in self and in confidence and the confidence that you learn and grow and develop to know that this too shall pass and then on the other side of that moment,
Of that hour,
Of that day,
Of that week,
Of that month,
Of that year.
Clennon Doyle says we can do hard things,
Doing hard things in my opinion comes from being able to sit with the discomfort and to weather the storm.
Had I not learned that all those years ago,
I wouldn't be recording this today because I wouldn't have learned it,
I wouldn't understand it,
I wouldn't know it,
I wouldn't intrinsically believe it,
I wouldn't have walked it and if I want to leave you with a single tool for today and if you remember nothing else other than this too shall pass,
You know yesterday I just felt I went for a walk and that walk I do what I normally do is get out my phone and record myself a voice note and essentially as I am my own best friend I talked to myself and I checked in and I asked how do I feel right now and I talked it out,
Speaking out loud allowed me to listen,
Allowed me to digest and I was able to approach the day but I did say out loud and I anchored myself in this for the whole day I said this too shall pass and it did and that's the reason I'm recording this today.
I hope that is something that you can use,
You can embrace and a tool that you can use to allow you to sit in the discomfort knowing full well that this too shall pass and it always does.
