There is a voice that arrives before you do.
Before the alarm.
Before snooze.
Before your feet have found the floor.
Before the day has required.
A single thing of you.
It is already there.
Not enough.
Not ready.
Not yet.
Not.
You know this voice.
You've heard it your whole life.
It is echoed with you.
Through you.
For as long as you can remember.
It arrived early.
Learn to speak the language of the world you existed in.
Grades and gold stars,
Medals and goals,
Approval.
Performance.
Smiles,
And be quiet.
Production.
And what that made you worth.
It gave you a perceived value.
And importance to those who loved you.
And so as Monday comes.
Comes with it.
The weight.
The week,
Laid out,
Stretched eternally before you like a test.
You failed to prepare for.
Every task.
A question.
Every meeting.
A verdict.
Every unannounced email.
A small quiet.
Indictment.
You should be further.
You should have done more.
You wasted your weekend.
You should know.
It should be more.
And you carry it.
You carry it before the day has even begun.
Risen you out of bed.
The voice is not cruel.
Doesn't use harsh words.
The voice is afraid.
It has been on a long,
Winding journey beside you.
You learn that if it kept you small enough,
Worried enough,
Vigilant enough,
You would be safe.
Hard.
Working,
It has been working so hard for so long.
To keep you from the thing it fears most.
The moment someone sees.
That you are not enough.
And yet,
If that voice was not true.
What would that do?
What if it is just an aspect of you?
Are young.
Exhausted part.
That has been standing guard for so long.
Carrying the burden.
Carrying it since before you knew what guarding meant.
What if it doesn't need to be silenced?
What if it only needs?
To be seen.
Acknowledge.
Allow your eyes to close.
And let you breathe.
Seek out its own rhythm.
Unforced.
Not counted.
Just breath.
Inhale … and arrive in your body.
Exhale.
The seven days can wait.
Feel your feet.
Grounded.
Connected.
Grounded and connected to the earth.
The weight of you here Solid.
Present.
Enough.
Now find that voice.
Not argue with it.
Not to push it away.
Not to keep it in the shadows.
Just notice.
Where in your body is it?
Your chest.
The base of your throat.
Your head.
Tight place behind your eyes.
Find it.
And this morning instead of turning away.
Bring yourself toward it.
Wonder.
Not judgment.
Not judgment.
Ask instead.
How old do you feel?
This part.
And listen.
How long?
Have you been with me?
And listen.
What are you afraid will happen?
If you stop standing guard.
Now place your hand on that place.
Be it the chest,
The throat,
The gut,
Wherever it lives.
Wherever your hand is drawn.
Place before it this offering.
I see you.
I see how hard you've been working.
I see how long you've been carrying this.
There's nothing to earn today.
Your worth is.
.
.
And always has been recognized.
Feel what happens when you say that.
The softening.
The lengthening of the exhale.
Quiet relief.
Of being seen.
Fully.
This is the part of you that learned to criticize before the world could.
It believed it was protecting you.
And it was.
And it is.
But had learned the lesson that was relevant for then.
Not for no longer.
But learn that worth was something you earned.
Something you prove.
Something you performed your way into.
Something you did not deserve to simply.
.
.
Have.
Learn that who you are.
Who you are is conditional and since then it has been performing.
But here in this moment.
Before your day,
Before your week begins,
Before that first task,
That first meeting,
That first call,
That first email,
The first chance to succeed or fail Remember this.
You are enough.
Inhale that.
And exhale it into your gut.
You are enough.
Earn that.
You are enough.
Remember that.
You are enough.
Accept that.
You are enough not because of what you'll do today.
Not because of what you did last week.
Not because of the title on the door.
Signature on your email,
Not because anyone has told you.
You are.
But because you are.
Because you are here in this present moment.
Breathing.
Present.
Alive.
And in the present in the now.
That has always been enough.
And yes,
The voice will return.
That is its nature.
Monday will demand things of you.
The week will have its weight.
The tasks will pile.
The meetings will come.
The engagements will aggravate.
And yet somewhere in the middle of it all.
Part will speak again.
Not enough.
Not ready.
But when it does this time,
You can return.
Return to this place.
Through the breath.
Through the body.
To the truth that lives.
In the now.
Beneath all of that.
You never needed to silence the voice.
You only need to know.
But it is not.
The whole of you.
That voice is a part.
And there is another aspect,
One that is deeper.
And a critic.
Steadier than the fear that knows.
You're worth.
That has always known it.
Since before you were trained to doubt it.
That aspect has been waiting.
Patient.
Like something that doesn't need to prove.
Because it knows that it is.
And that,
Is self.
So now,
Allow one more breath in.
Feel ground beneath you.
Feel the week ahead.
Not as a test.
But as a place to show up.
And when you open your eyes,
Carry this with you.
Critic.
Is a part of you.
The fear.
Is a part of you.
And what knows your worth,
That is you.
We are all of it.
And as all of it,
We are enough.
Together.
We have always been enough from the very first moment we took that first breath and enough will remain.
Until the end.
