Create a comfy nest that you can settle into and surrender to deep rest. Eye covers are great for sensory deprivation. This is a guided practice. follow my voice as best you can. If you fade into a dreamlike state, it's okay, let yourself relax and let go. However, a goal with Yogic Sleep is to let the body fall asleep to heal/rest and allow consciousness to remain awake and aware so you can observe, explore, and receive divine wisdom from Your Source - the space from that which you came, the space that knows all. One gets more skilled in exploring the mind in this way with practice. I will guide you back verbally, but if you have somewhere to be, you may want to set an alarm for after the experience just in case you fall asleep. Make space to journal afterward - jot down anything about your experience, what you felt, what you saw, and what you may have realized. This is from a live class, but all talking in the beginning/end has been edited out.

So let's settle in.

If you're not already in your space,

Just coming into your nesting space where you can relax.

And again,

You're simply going to follow my voice,

Follow the guidance that I'm offering.

And so we're going to start with three double inhales and long exhales.

Okay,

So a double inhale through the nose and a long,

Drawn out exhale.

The mouth is amazing.

And another when you're ready.

And a long,

Drawn out exhale.

Feeling the body and the muscles relaxing on the exhale.

One more when you're ready.

Letting go.

And now simply just noticing the breath.

Coming into a regular breath.

And if you're noticing that maybe it's a little fast paced,

You can intentionally slow it down.

Noticing where the breath is reaching.

Is it moving in only through your chest or is it reaching into the diaphragm?

Maybe even the lower belly.

And if you notice it's more in the chest,

See if you can intentionally deepen that breath and draw it down.

Draw it down a little lower,

A little deeper on the inhale.

And the exhale still offering that space of release.

Scanning your body,

Just noticing from the top of your head all the way down to your feet.

Noticing if there's any spaces of tension or any spaces that you might be holding on.

Offering your body permission to let go.

Adjusting in whatever way that might support this letting go.

And as you settle in,

I invite you to either imagine or sense as if you're drawing a circle around you.

A circle of light,

Could be a circle of fire,

It could be a circle of tree roots.

This circle is encompassing your energy field,

Your personal space,

Creating a layer of personal protection,

A safe space.

This safe space is where I can put down the weight of the world,

Let go of my many responsibilities,

Relieve myself from having to do anything.

This space is where I can claim some time to rest fully,

To reclaim my energy and feel whole again.

Feeling into this circle of protection.

Each breath in is naturally gifting you whatever you may need in this moment.

Each breath out is naturally dissolving and transforming the old energy.

Beginning to notice your body on the earth.

Noticing all the points of your body that are touching the earth.

You can feel the earth through the surface that you're sitting or lying on,

Through the floors.

You can feel the earth's energy through it all.

As you inhale,

Feel the earth rising to support you.

As you exhale,

Feeling gravity pulling you closer into earth's embrace.

Inhale all the support you need and deserve.

Exhale,

Letting go of any tension in the body and mind.

As you breathe in,

Feeling the lightness this creates.

And as you exhale,

Feeling gravity,

The heaviness as you sink in more and more into the comfort of the earth.

Noticing your breath,

Notice your body being breathed.

Beginning to count the breaths backwards from 18 to 0.

Inhaling 18,

Exhaling 18.

Inhaling 17,

Exhaling 17.

If you miss a number or forget where you are,

Simply start again at 18.

Surrendering more and more to rest with each breath,

Relaxing your mind and body more and more as you approach zero.

Letting go of counting,

Setting an intention that I am open to deep rest.

Remembering my wholeness and receiving all the healing and nourishment my body,

Mind,

And heart may need.

Bringing your awareness inside the space between your brows.

Within this space between your brows,

Feel,

Sense,

Or imagine a tiny point of starlight.

A gentle,

Nourishing,

Rose-colored glow of starlight in the point between your brows.

Follow my voice and place this nurturing starlight in each suggested point.

Placing a rose-colored starlight inside the base of your throat,

Inside the right shoulder joint,

Right elbow joint,

Right wrist joint,

Tip of the right thumb,

Tip of the second finger,

Third finger,

Fourth finger,

The tip of the pinky finger,

Pinky finger,

Right palm starlight,

Right wrist joint,

Right elbow,

Right shoulder,

Base of the throat,

Inside the left shoulder joint,

Left elbow joint,

Tip of the left thumb,

Tip of the third finger,

Fourth finger,

Right side of the chest,

Left side of the chest,

Starlight in the center of the chest,

Solar plexus above the belly button,

Navel center,

Pelvic center,

Starlight in the base of the spine,

Right hip joint,

Right knee joint,

Right ankle,

Tip of the right big toe,

Tip of the second toe,

Third toe,

Fourth toe,

Tip of the pinky toe,

Sole of the right foot starlight,

Base of the spine,

Pelvic center,

Navel center starlight,

Solar plexus,

Center of the chest,

Base of the throat,

Third eye between the brows,

Feel all of these points vibrating with this rose-colored starlight,

Feeling the body,

Noticing its constellation amongst the stars,

Feeling the lightness,

The comfort,

The wholeness in your personal space amongst the stars.

Rest and receive here,

Very gently bringing awareness to what you are experiencing in this feeling aware of your constellation amongst the stars,

Bringing your awareness to the starlight in the center of your chest,

Very gently breathing into your heart space,

Just feeling at home here,

Slowly calling yourself back to the earth,

Remembering that you have a body,

Feel the earth's loving support beneath your physical body,

Breathing in,

Feeling the earth rising up to meet you,

Breathing out and allowing gravity to bring you back to earth,

Feeling as if your body has energetic roots connecting you here to the earth,

Nourishing you,

Bringing a sense of grounding,

Grounding,

Stability,

Strength,

And balance,

Leaving a very slow and deep inhale,

Very slow and deep exhale as you anchor fully back into this present moment,

Locating your hands and your feet,

Very gently wiggling your fingers,

Your toes,

And tuning into your body,

Seeing if your body gives you any insight or intuition on whatever ways might feel opening,

Awakening,

Just stretching,

Gentle,

Gentle movements,

And as you tune into your body,

Just noticing how you feel,

There is no good or bad,

Negative or positive,

Just noticing,

Maybe you can compare it to how you felt when we began,

When we began.

As you feel ready,

If you're laying down,

I invite you to roll over onto one side if that works for you,

Just as a gentle transition for when you're ready,

You can rise yourself back up to a seated position,

And if you are not ready yet,

That's okay.

If you want to flow right into sleep,

That's okay too,

But as you do rise,

You can gently open your eyes,

And rise from that yogic sleep state.

It is a wonderful practice to incorporate some time for you to journal,

Write down anything you may have noticed that was significant to you.

Like I mentioned in the beginning,

Sometimes we have some deep realizations,

Self-realizations,

Deeper understandings of our lives or the people or things within it,

Deeper understanding of ourselves,

So claiming a few moments to jot those things down,

Even if it's just simple words,

You can expand on it when you feel ready.
