Hi everyone.
Welcome and thank you for joining me today.
My name is Shannon.
I'm a certified
mindfulness teacher,
An energy healer,
And a mental health advocate.
My pronouns are she and
her.
I'm coming to you today from Campbell River,
British Columbia,
Canada,
And I would like to
respectfully acknowledge the unceded traditional territory of the Ligwilda people,
And I want
to say thank you for allowing us to live,
Work,
And play here.
I'll be guiding you on this journey
of gratitude,
Acceptance,
And appreciation of your body just as it is.
Let's begin.
I invite
you to find a comfortable position where you'll not be disturbed for the duration of the session.
This may be setting up or lying down,
Whatever feels most comfortable for you in this moment.
Please go ahead and close your eyes or soften your gaze and bring your attention to your breath.
I invite you to take a few deep breaths here,
Inhaling deeply through your nose and exhaling
through your mouth,
Allowing your body to relax a little more with each exhale.
Now I invite you to shift your focus to your body.
Bring your awareness to the
sensations present in your body right now.
Notice any areas of tension or discomfort without judgment.
Simply observe the sensations as they arise,
Acknowledging them with curiosity and openness.
Take a moment to connect with gratitude for your body.
Reflect on the countless ways your body
supports you every day.
It carries you through life's experiences,
Allowing you to see,
Hear,
Touch,
Taste,
And smell.
It enables you to move,
To express yourself,
And to experience the world.
Cultivate a sense of appreciation for your body's resilience and the remarkable gift it is.
Now I invite you to slowly begin to scan your body from head to toe.
As you move your attention through each part,
Mentally repeat the phrase,
I am grateful for my body,
And I accept and honor it just as it is.
I am grateful for my body,
And I accept and honor it just as it is.
If you encounter any resistance or judgment,
Gently let it go and return to the phrase.
I am grateful for my body,
And I accept and honor it just as it is.
As you continue the body scan,
Notice any areas that may be holding tension or discomfort.
Send your breath to those areas,
Allowing the gentle flow of your breath to soothe and release any tightness or discomfort.
With each exhale,
Imagine tension melting away,
Replaced by a soft and warm sense of relaxation.
Now I invite you to bring your attention to your heart center.
The area in the middle of your chest.
Visualize a glowing light at the center,
Radiating love and compassion.
With each breath,
Allow this light to expand,
Filling your entire body with gratitude,
Warmth,
And acceptance.
If your mind starts to wander,
That's completely normal.
Just bring your attention back to your heart center,
And visualize the white light emanating.
Feel the love and compassion embracing every cell and every part of you.
Take a moment to reflect on the interconnectedness of your body and your mind.
Recognize that your thoughts and emotions are not separate from your body,
But are experienced within it.
Embrace the wholeness of your being,
Accepting all aspects of yourself,
Both physical and non-physical,
Without judgment or resistance.
Let's take a deep breath in through your nose.
Exhale out through your mouth.
Exhale out through your mouth.
Letting go of any tension,
Any judgment,
Any discomfort,
Any shoulds.
Just let them go.
Please go ahead and slowly open your eyes,
Bringing your awareness back to the present moment.
Reorient yourself to the room that you are in.
Maybe stretching your arms up over your head,
Wiggling your shoulders up and down.
I invite you to share in a gesture of gratitude that works for you.
This can be hands to your heart,
Hands together in prayer,
Or touching the earth on which you practice.
Remember that body acceptance is an ongoing practice.
Whenever you find yourself slipping into self-judgment or criticism,
Return to this meditation,
Allowing it to guide you back to a place of love,
Acceptance,
And gratitude for your amazing body.
I thank you for taking this time for yourself today,
And for practicing with me.
Namaste.
