We will be going through the breathwork pranayama called Breath of Fire,

Aka Skull Shine Breath.

I'm Sam,

Your guide,

And this practice is beneficial for your nervous system,

Your immune system.

It strengthens the solar plexus chakra,

Aiding you in quitting bad habits or addictions,

An amazing tool for your spiritual journey.

This is a powerful technique,

But you may notice lightheadedness or dizziness as you start to go deeper into the practice.

And if you do feel this way,

Take a break from this breathing pattern and return back into your regular breathing.

Close your eyes and take a moment right now to bring awareness to your breath.

Put both hands on your belly and feel the breath as it goes down into the belly on the inhale.

Bring that oxygen into the bottom of the pelvic floor,

Expanding your belly.

And on the exhale,

Let the oxygen travel up from the belly,

Through the chest,

And out of the nose,

Contracting the navel towards the spine.

Take a moment right now to do this breath.

Deep breaths in,

And long breaths out.

Do this a few times before we begin the practice.

Breathing into your belly,

Expanding the belly on the inhale.

And on the exhale,

Letting go of all that built up energy,

Through your mouth or through your nose.

And now that we're grounded and centered,

We will move into this pranayama practice,

This paradoxical breath,

Where instead of the inhale being active,

The exhale is.

Sit up straight,

Nice and tall,

Shoulders relaxed,

And keep your hands on your belly.

Take a sharp breath in through the nose,

And exhale out through the nose,

Sharp breaths.

This technique requires to move at a fast-paced rhythm.

Now we will begin the first round.

Notice how you feel.

Tune into your body.

Tune into your body and let your breath be the guide.

Feel your belly as the breath moves down.

Take a deep breath in,

Long exhale out.

Now we will begin the second round.

Inhale very passively,

And exhale very actively,

Short,

Sharp inhales and pumping exhales.

Keep going,

You're doing great.

Take a deep breath in,

Long exhale out.

Now we will begin the final round.

Keep your belly expanded on the inhales,

And navel contracted on the exhales.

Short,

Sharp inhales and pumping exhales.

This concludes the practice.

Go back into your regular breathing.
