It seems that whenever we approach a new year, we are filled both with hope and maybe a bit of regret and sadness. Regret for the things we didn't accomplish, or relationships that didn't turn out the way we'd hoped, or goals that didn't materialize. Hope that the new year will be filled with excitement, joy, and interesting challenges we feel we can face with confidence. I created this EFT (tapping) script to help release any regret, sadness, or anxiety about the past year, and with hope as we look forward to the new year.

Transcript

New Year Tapping Script.

Take a slow breath in and out.

Place one hand on your heart.

Set the intention to release the old year with compassion and welcome the new one with clarity,

Courage,

And openness.

Even though I'm carrying some emotions from this past year,

I deeply and completely accept myself.

Even though part of me may still be holding on to old patterns or disappointments,

I choose to welcome a fresh start.

Even though stepping into a new year brings up excitement and uncertainty,

I honor all of my feelings and choose to move forward with clarity.

Top of the head,

All the leftover stress from this past year,

Eyebrow,

All the moments that felt heavy or draining,

Side of the eye,

All the things I didn't finish or didn't get to,

Under the eye,

I release any self-judgment about what I should have done,

Under the nose,

Letting go of old pressure and old expectations.

Chin,

Releasing habits and patterns that no longer serve me.

Collarbone,

Letting go of any emotional clutter from this past year.

Under the arm,

Releasing worry,

Stress,

And anything I'm ready to leave behind.

Top of the head,

I acknowledge how much I've grown this past year.

Eyebrow,

I see this strength it took to navigate everything I faced.

Side of the eye,

I honor the resilience I showed.

Under the eye,

I'm proud of the ways I kept moving forward.

Under the nose,

I acknowledge the lessons that shaped me.

Chin,

I honor the healing that's already taken place.

Collarbone,

I appreciate myself more than I did last year.

Under the arm,

I acknowledge that even small steps mattered.

Top of the head,

I'm entering the new year with gratitude for how far I've come.

Eyebrow,

I open myself to clarity and intention.

Side of the eye,

I am ready for new opportunities.

Under the eye,

I am open to abundance in all forms.

Under the nose,

I am willing to trust the timing of my life.

Chin,

I invite in joy,

Playfulness,

And curiosity.

Collarbone,

I open myself to support,

Seen and unseen.

Under the arm,

I choose to enter this year with confidence.

Top of the head,

I welcome the new year with an open and hopeful heart.

Eyebrow,

I am ready.

Side of the eye,

I am supported.

Under the eye,

I am aligned.

Under the nose,

I am stepping into a new chapter.

Chin,

I am worthy of everything good coming my way.

Collarbone,

I choose peace.

Under the arm,

I choose expansion.

Top of the head,

I choose to begin this year with intention,

Courage,

And love.

Place one hand or both hands on your heart again.

Take a slow,

Deep breath,

And release.

Feel the space you've created.

Feel the new year opening before you.
