This guided meditation is about embodying "Buffalo Energy" - the fortitude to face and move through life's challenges and "storms." You will be invited to embrace a wise and loving being who helps you move as the Buffalo do - into and through the snow storm. And to come out the other side with an increased sense of resilience, courage and determination.

Embracing Buffalo energy moving into the storm.

Gently close your eyes as you begin to focus on your breathing.

Take a deep breath in through your nose and release it slowly through your mouth.

Again,

Take a deep breath in and gently let it out.

Notice the chair beneath you,

Your feet flat on the floor.

Allow your shoulders to soften as you settle into this moment.

Imagine yourself in a very safe place.

Perhaps a place you have visited before.

Perhaps a place you have only visited in your imagination.

Notice what that place looks like.

Notice any sounds that you hear in this safe and protected place.

Notice any smells or tastes,

Or perhaps the feeling of a gentle breeze on your face.

And now,

As you continue to breathe easily and naturally,

Still in this safe and protected place in your imagination,

I want you to imagine a wise and loving being who knows you well coming into your awareness.

It might be your higher self.

It might be one of your guides.

It might be an angel or a religious figure.

It might be a pet or a power animal.

Someone or something who is wise and loving and knows you well.

It might be a wise and loving relative who has passed away.

In your imagination,

I want you to welcome this being into your awareness.

Watch as they come closer to you.

Invite this wise and loving being to come with you on this journey you are about to embark on.

Now,

Imagine yourself standing on a wide,

Open plane.

Your wise and loving being is with you.

The air is cold and crisp.

Snowflakes swirl lazily at first,

Dancing on the wind.

In the distance,

You hear the muffled sound of hooves pressing into the frozen earth.

Before you stretches a herd of buffalo,

Powerful and steady.

Take a moment to see yourself there.

You are part of this herd.

Feel the weight of your body,

The strength in your legs,

The warmth of the herd surrounding you.

Notice the storm,

Wind biting,

Snow swirling,

But also feel the calm determination in your chest.

Let this storm symbolize the challenges or uncertainties in your own life.

Notice that the buffalo do not flee.

They lean in,

Trusting that on the other side lies calmer sky,

Open land,

Renewal.

This line of buffalo that you are a part of pushes steadily into the teeth of the snowstorm.

Your massive heads lower against the blinding wind.

The snow swirls around you in thick,

Stinging sheets until you seem like moving drifts yourselves.

Each step is deliberate,

Your hooves crunching through ice and powder,

Muscles rippling with the effort to move forward.

The storm howls across the open plain,

Erasing the horizon.

But you and the other buffalo press on,

Unyielding,

Ancient shapes advancing into the white chaos,

Guided by an instinct older than the winter itself.

As you breathe,

Sense the power of moving into the storm rather than away from it.

Each breath is a deliberate step forward.

With each inhale,

You are gathering courage.

With each exhale,

You are releasing fear.

With every breath,

Repeat quietly in your mind,

I have the strength to face what comes.

Step by step,

I move forward.

The storm does not define me.

My courage guides me through.

Feel the rhythm of your hooves.

The snow may swirl,

But your direction is clear.

You are supported by the wisdom of the herd,

By an instinct older than fear,

Deeper than doubt.

Now,

Imagine the storm beginning to soften.

The wind slows.

The snow settles gently on the plain.

A glimmer of light breaks on the horizon.

You've come through,

Stronger,

Steadier,

Grounded.

Take another deep breath in,

And exhale fully,

Letting go of any lingering tension.

Now,

When you are ready,

Return to your safe and protected place in your imagination,

And thank your wise and loving being for helping you on this journey.

When the time is right,

Say goodbye to your wise and loving being,

And watch them slowly move away.

Begin preparing yourself to return to this place and time.

Become aware of the weight of your body on the chair you are sitting on.

Gently bring your awareness back to the room.

Notice your hands.

Notice your feet.

Notice the rest of your body.

Continue breathing easily and deeply,

As you notice these potential changes.

And when you are ready,

Gently flutter your eyes open.

Carrying with you the quiet strength of the buffalo.

The knowing that you too can walk into and through whatever storms life brings.

Look around the room,

And notice what you see.

Welcome back.
