Welcome to this practice that we're going to be doing today.
This.
Practice is going to be focusing on attitudes,
Mindfulness attitudes.
Often when we're practicing mindfulness,
At least from my experience.
Is we're focusing on attention and awareness.
We're training our attention.
We're moving the attention around.
We're focusing the attention on one thing or several things.
Mind wanders.
We bring attention back.
We're also focusing often on awareness.
Awareness of this moment,
Awareness of mind wandering,
Where tension is.
Awareness of.
Feelings,
Sensations.
Impulses,
Thoughts,
Etc.
And very seldom Are we focusing on attitudes?
Quite explicitly.
It's often.
Referred to in a sentence.
Let's focus with curiosity.
Let's.
.
.
Practice non-judgment and so forth and so on.
However,
Today what I invite us to explore is if we can.
.
.
Really put attention and awareness on three mindful attitudes.
These three attitudes that What I try to do.
Are quite distinct from one another.
Yet.
Have a lot of influence in how we practice and how we show up,
Not only for our meditation,
Also for life,
Moment by moment.
With that being said.
.
.
If.
.
.
You haven't already.
Finding your your posture.
Your position,
The way you're going to be.
Practicing today.
Whether you're seated.
Laying down on the go.
The invitation is to shift.
Attention.
And awareness to the body right now.
Just how you are and What's this moment like for you?
And the first.
Mindful attitude.
That I invite us to focus on.
To bring into the mix.
Is a beginner's mind.
To show up to this moment by moment experience,
To show up to body.
Bye.
With openness.
With this intention of.
.
.
Freshness.
Newness,
Child-likeness.
Without needing to assume.
Without certainty.
And the invitation is to rest your attention on me.
Whatever's supportive.
Whatever is steady and grounded,
Whatever's in the moment.
That gives you a sense of direct present moment experience.
Body.
Senses and really infusing.
Embedding,
Integrating the attitude of Beginner's mind.
Each time.
Something shows up in our experience.
Whether that's the sound of my voice.
Other thoughts?
Other happenings in our experience,
Exploring the possibility of reading that.
With the beginner's mind.
Openness and curiosity.
And the invitation now is.
To explore the second.
Mindfulness attitude we're exploring today.
And that's the attitude of.
.
.
Acceptance.
Accepting.
Moment by moment as best we can.
Whatever it is we're recognizing and acknowledging.
This doesn't mean we don't take action later.
Practicing and allowing.
And acceptance rather than resisting.
Accepting the thoughts Accepting how I'm feeling or what I'm sensing right now.
Accepting.
This moment as it is,
As I am.
Perhaps exploring what is it like to Combined.
Beginner's mind and acceptance.
And when,
If you're ready.
We'll transition to the third and final attitude.
We'll be exploring today in our mindfulness practice.
Non-striving becoming more aware of.
Effort.
More aware of.
Achievement,
Wanting to get something or be something.
Make things a certain way.
Practicing.
Letting go of getting,
Doing,
Improving.
Shifting more into being.
Shifting from human doing to human being.
Practising.
Non-striving.
Even with this meditation itself.
Not striving for a beginner's mind,
For acceptance.
For non-striving itself.
Holding it lightly.
Delicately with care in our practice.
For a few more.
Moments exploring.
Any insights?
Any lessons from?
Practicing.
Meditating around the beginner's mind,
Acceptance,
And non-striving.
And when you're ready.
In your own way,
Own time.
Shifting more attention.
To body,
To breath,
Space that you're in.
Transitioning from this mindfulness practice around attitudes.
Into the next.
Into the next moments of the day.
Thank you.
