Hello everyone,
Welcome into the space.
Today we're going to focus on a quick body scan.
I encourage you to take a moment and look around.
Ensure that you're in a safe,
Quiet space.
You can even say this out loud to yourself,
I am safe,
I am at peace.
Once you've taken a moment to do this,
I encourage you to close your eyes or to take a heavy lid.
Now,
Imagining the space right above the crown of your head.
In this space,
I encourage you to imagine a light of any color that you'd like.
Perhaps it's a light that brings you joy or comfort.
Maybe the light is a color that invokes the feeling of warmth.
Once you've discovered this light and you've placed a color to it,
I encourage you to take a big inhale up through your nose,
Hold for a moment,
And exhale slowly out of your mouth.
We're going to take two more like this at your own pace.
While you're taking your breaths,
Imagine that light above your head.
Imagine the color growing stronger.
When you're ready and you've taken your breath,
We're going to have our light work its way down our body,
Everywhere this light touching,
Invoking a feeling of love and comfort.
Imagine this light moving gently from the crown of your head down over your ears,
Down to your neck,
And over your collarbones.
Everywhere the light touches,
Leaving you with feelings of warmth and comfort.
As the light moves down your right arm,
Down your elbow,
And your wrist,
Into your fingers.
You can imagine this light coming back up and across your chest,
Finding its way down your left arm,
Down the elbow and wrist,
And into your fingers.
Feel the difference in the places the light has already touched.
As we bring the light back to the top of the torso,
And imagine it going down our ribs,
Our waist,
Our hips,
Down the right leg,
Into the knee,
Bringing with it these feelings of comfort and love.
Down the calf and into the ankle,
In through the foot,
Feeling the warmth and the light through your toes,
Guiding the light back up to your hips.
So go back down to your left side,
Bringing it down your thigh and your knee,
Down your calf and your ankle,
Imagining the light going over your toes.
And finally,
Bringing the light to your whole body,
Imagining everywhere the light just touched,
Shining bright,
Whichever color you chose in the beginning,
Feeling your body incorporated with all of the light,
Love,
And warmth it brings.
Take a moment here to inhale through your nose,
Hold,
And exhale out of your mouth.
Nice,
Slow exhale.
I'm going to encourage you to take two more breaths like this at your own pace,
Imagining your body surrounded with light and warmth.
I encourage you to imagine this light staying with you throughout the day,
Offering you comfort and ease as you navigate what the day brings you.
When it feels safe to do so,
I invite you to start fluttering your eyes open,
Looking back around the space,
The safe space that you started this practice in,
Offering yourself one more deep inhale,
Feeling your lungs fill with air.
When you're ready,
A nice slow exhale out of your mouth as you welcome yourself back into your space.
