Try to take each day at a time and breathe through the suffering which is there with you in any given moment.
Most of us have something to breathe through in any given moment.
If I ask any of you right now to tap into yourself,
You'll feel some degree of pain or density,
Won't you?
I can almost guarantee that everybody listening to this will have something.
If you close your eyes and go within your chest,
There'll be something there,
Won't there?
Your job,
One of your many jobs,
Is to breathe into that pain,
That density,
And that's that.
Breathe into it and see it.
And what happens here is the ego panics because,
Like I said,
The ego doesn't want to sit with pain,
The ego doesn't want to sit with suffering.
So it tries to tell you that this is a bad idea.
But the bigger picture,
And I'm here to reassure you of the bigger picture because I've been there and done it and I've helped people do it.
When you sit with your pain and breathe into it to the best of your ability over weeks and over months,
And you do the best you can and you keep breathing into it and you keep ignoring the egoic voice saying,
This isn't working,
This isn't working,
You release and dissolve tons and tons and tons and tons and tons of it.
Every time you take a breath through it,
You're releasing some of it because it needs to be seen.
It's like a universal law.
If it's not seen,
It's not processed.
The ego doesn't want to see it.
The ego,
Like I said,
The ego doesn't want discomfort.
The ego does not want pain.
So it doesn't see it.
The ego takes it and buries it.
So when you do the work,
When you decide I'm going to be brave and I'm going to take one breath through the pain and I'm going to see it.
You've just done a little bit of the digging.
Does this make sense?
I'm sure it makes sense.
And if you take two breaths,
Well done you.
You've just taken two little scoops away from that density.
And if you've got a meditation practice,
Which I really hope you have by this point,
Those of you who know me,
You know that it's a staple and it's a fundamental.
If you do 10,
15 minutes of meditation a day and you just do your best to breathe into discomfort.
Over a long period of time,
You're going to become a lot lighter.
And that obstruction,
It ceases to be there because it's been seen.
It's been processed.
It's been acknowledged.
It's been witnessed by awareness.
