Breathing in,
Filling your lungs completely,
Then exhaling,
Letting everything soften.
And again,
With each breath,
Imagine you are exhaling everything you don't need tonight.
Thoughts,
Effort,
Tension,
All dissolving on the out-breath.
Notice your toes,
Feel a soft heaviness gathering there,
As though the earth is inviting your toes to sink in and rest.
You don't have to hold them up anymore,
Just let gravity carry them.
That same heaviness moves through your feet,
The arches softening,
The heels grounding,
Almost as though you are standing in warm sand,
The grains supporting and surrounding you fully.
Notice your ankles now releasing,
Your calves,
The muscles lengthening,
Softening,
Almost humming with relaxation,
As if warm water is flowing downward,
Washing away every last bit of strain,
Your knees letting go now,
Feel the weight of your legs pressing gently downward,
Carried by the surface beneath you,
No effort,
No need to hold on,
