We will journey through a peaceful meadow to cultivate compassion for ourselves and others.
This practice will guide you in opening your heart to love and kindness,
Both for yourself and those around you.
Find a comfortable position where your body can fully relax.
Close your eyes gently,
Take a deep breath in through your nose,
Fill your lungs completely and then exhale slowly through your mouth,
Letting go of any tension in your body.
Take a few more deep breaths.
As you inhale,
Imagine breathing in peace and calm.
As you exhale,
Release any tension or discomfort you may be holding.
Allow your body to settle deeper into relaxation.
With each breath,
Feeling yourself becoming more grounded and at ease,
Ready to connect with the warmth of loving-kindness.
Now imagine yourself standing in a beautiful meadow.
The sun is gently warming your skin and a soft breeze carries the sweet scent of flowers and fresh grass.
The meadow is peaceful and inviting,
A perfect place to relax and connect with the present moment.
Feel the ground beneath your feet,
Soft and firm,
Holding you with gentle support.
Hear the birds chirping in the distance and the rustling of leaves as the wind passes through the trees.
The whole environment is peaceful and you are safe and calm here.
As you stand in this serene meadow,
Begin to focus on yourself.
Place one hand on your heart,
Feeling its steady beat.
Take a moment to acknowledge all that you have done and all that you are.
In this moment,
Give yourself permission to be kind to yourself.
Repeat silently or out loud the following words.
May I be happy.
May I be healthy.
May I be safe.
May I live with ease.
Allow these words to fill your heart with warmth.
Feel the loving-kindness you are offering yourself,
Knowing that you deserve compassion,
Care and love.
Now,
Imagine someone in your life who you care about deeply.
It could be a friend,
Family member,
Loved one or even a pet.
Picture them standing in the meadow with you,
Feeling safe and loved.
Send them your kind thoughts,
Wishing them the same love and compassion you have just given yourself.
Repeat these words for them.
May you be happy.
May you be healthy.
May you be safe.
May you live with ease.
Visualise these wishes surrounding your loved one,
Filling them with peace and warmth.
Feel the connection between you and allow your compassion to flow freely.
Now,
Broaden your circle of compassion.
Imagine sending this loving-kindness to everyone in your life,
Friends,
Family,
Acquaintances,
Even people you may not know well.
Picture them all standing in the meadow with you,
Enveloped in a gentle light of warmth and compassion.
Now,
Extend your loving-kindness to all beings everywhere,
Including those who are struggling or suffering.
Let your compassion flow far and wide,
Wrapping the world in love and kindness.
Repeat the words.
May all beings be happy.
May all beings be healthy.
May all beings be safe.
May all beings live with ease.
Allow your heart to expand as you send your compassion energy to all living things,
Embracing them with kindness.
As you finish sending your loving-kindness outward,
Return your focus to yourself once again.
Take a moment to feel the warmth of compassion you've cultivated within your own heart.
Know that you are deserving of this love and care,
And it's always available to you.
Take a deep breath in,
Drawing all of this loving-kindness into your heart,
And as you exhale,
Let that warmth spread throughout your body.
Allow yourself to feel the peace and comfort of this practice,
Knowing that you can return to this place of compassion at any time.
When you're ready,
Slowly begin to bring your awareness back to the present moment.
Wiggle your fingers,
Wiggle your toes,
Stretch gently,
And when you feel ready,
Open your eyes.
Remember,
Compassion is a practice you can return to daily.
With each moment of kindness,
You are cultivating more peace,

And connection in your life.
