Welcome to Start Your Day with Positivity Meditation.
My name's Kim and I'm a mindfulness teacher and a wellbeing coach.
Thank you for joining me today and for taking this time for some self-care.
Find yourself in a comfortable position,
Whether that's seated or lying down,
Eyes closed or lower your gaze.
Just take a moment to notice your breath.
You don't need to do a special breathing pattern,
Just follow the natural rhythm of your breath.
Begin by bringing your attention to the present moment.
Feel the surface supporting you,
Whether it's a chair,
A cushion or the floor.
Allow yourself to sink into this support,
Knowing you are safe and held in this space.
As you feel yourself sinking into this support,
Gently scan from your body from head to toe as you exhale.
Release any tension you might find.
Start at the bottom of your head,
Moving slowly down to your forehead and your eyes and your jaw.
Then let go of any tightness in your shoulders,
In your neck,
Moving down to your arms and your hands.
Continue down your chest,
Your belly,
Your hips,
Moving down to your legs and then to your feet.
And as you do this,
Imagine each part of your body softening and relaxing as you bring awareness to it.
Now bring your focus back to your breath.
Notice the gentle rise and fall of your chest or the sensation of air entering and leaving your nostrils.
Each inhale brings in fresh energy.
Each exhale releases any lingering tension.
Stay here for a moment,
Just noticing your breath.
As you continue to breathe naturally,
I invite you to set a positive intention for your day.
This could be a word,
A phrase or a feeling you wish to carry with you.
It might be something like peace,
Gratitude,
Kindness or joy.
Whatever resonates with you.
There's no right or wrong here,
It's whatever is right for you.
And as you call in this intention,
You might want to place your hands on your heart and hold this intention gently in your mind.
Imagine yourself moving through your day with this positive intention guiding you.
See yourself encountering various situations and people with a sense of calm and positivity.
Notice how this intention shapes your interactions and experiences.
Allow yourself to fully immerse in this positive energy.
Now I would like to share some affirmations for you to carry into your day.
Repeat silently or aloud the following affirmations,
Letting each one sink deeply into your consciousness.
I am open to the goodness of today.
I am capable and strong.
I choose to see the beauty in each moment.
I am grateful for the opportunities this day brings.
I approach challenges with a positive mindset.
Now,
Gradually bring your attention back to your breath.
Notice the sensation of the air as it flows in and out.
Feeling the connection between your breath and your positive intentions.
When you feel ready,
Gently bring your awareness back to the room.
Wiggle your fingers and toes and you can stretch if that feels good.
Whenever you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes or lift your gaze.
Just take a moment here to notice how you feel.
Carry this sense of positivity and calm with you as you go about your day.
