We often feel anxious because we don't feel safe in the now; our mind finds a million reasons why we are not safe. From the roots everything stars, only from our stability, our connection to the base to the ground we can grow expand and blossom. Our traumas, wounds, and past life situations made us feel unsafe in our bodies, often those traumatic events never get closed. The trauma response keeps us in hyperarousal feeling unsafe, so we can't access the present moment, we end up unconsciously using different coping mechanisms to dissociate, num, and escape the now and its uncomfortable shadows. But if we create a safe place to lean into the uncomfortable, we can transmute and release the shadows we are running from.
