This meditation is intended to be used for your public transit commute or any mode of travel that suits you,
Whenever you have a few minutes to close your eyes and find stillness.
Kate and I have been feeling overwhelmed with the busyness of life,
And we were thinking about how to support each other and you,
So this meditation will help you find a few moments of stillness on this journey called life.
With that,
I invite you to close your eyes,
Or soften your gaze,
And just bring all your awareness into this present moment,
Allowing all your worries and thoughts to be set aside for just a few moments,
Feeling the seat supporting you,
Allowing yourself to relax a little deeper into your seat,
Becoming aware of your breath,
Observing it without judgment,
Noticing how it feels coming in and out of your nose,
Does it feel easy,
Or do you feel tense,
Bringing your awareness to your head and face,
Relaxing the spot between your eyebrows,
Relaxing your jaw and tongue,
Bringing a slight smile to your mouth,
Noticing any sensations in your mouth,
Dropping down into your neck and upper shoulders,
Notice if you're carrying any tension here and what that feels like,
Breathing into this space,
Allowing the tension to just melt away,
Releasing it with each exhale,
Acknowledging that you don't need to carry it any longer,
Moving down into your heart,
See if you can sense your heart beating,
Moving down to your stomach and lower back,
Allowing your breath to soften your belly,
Continuing to relax a little deeper with each exhale,
Just noticing if you have any thoughts that come up,
Be gentle with yourself and just come back to this practice,
Moving down into your pelvis,
Continuing to relax deeper into your chair,
Letting go of the tension here,
Notice the position of your hands and arms,
Are your hands relaxed or clenched,
Relaxing your hands and fingers,
And noticing the sensation in the palms of your hands,
Is there a tingling or buzzing sensation,
Do you feel hot or cold,
Noticing the position of your legs and feet,
Are they relaxed or tense,
Bringing an awareness to your entire body,
Where in your body are you feeling tense,
Just acknowledging this without judgment,
Sending love to that part of your body that's feeling tense,
Thanking your body for being able to move and carry you through life,
Thanking it for being the vehicle for your soul to carry you from place to place,
Thanking yourself for taking a few moments to find stillness today,
And remind yourself that you can come back to the stillness at any moment that you choose,
Setting an intention for how you want to move forward from this place,
And how can you continue to cultivate stillness today,
You can continue being present with yourself in your body,
But when you feel ready you can open your eyes,
