This meditation is focused towards air travel.
We found that there's often some time right before you board your flight,
And you could use this to fill that time to be centered and grounded and in a state of ease.
But you can use this for any mode of travel that serves you.
I invite you to close your eyes and feel present in this now moment,
Letting all your worries and fears be set aside for another time.
This moment is for you.
Feel your feet on the ground.
Feel the chair that's supporting you,
Allowing yourself to sink deeper into this moment,
More relaxed and at ease.
Take a nice,
Slow,
Deep breath,
Exhaling the tension,
And bring your awareness to the base of your tailbone.
And from this spot,
You imagine a beautiful,
Strong tree trunk emerging,
Connecting your tailbone to the earth.
You can see this beautiful tree trunk connecting with the soil of the earth.
Notice its thickness and strength,
And this tree trunk descends into the earth,
Down through all the layers of the earth,
Deeper and deeper,
Expanding all the way down to the core of the earth.
And when the trunk lands on the core of the earth,
Its roots ground into the earth,
Holding you and keeping you grounded.
Take a moment to see if you can sense the earth's heartbeat or energy,
And on your next inhale,
Bring the energy of the earth up through your roots,
Up through the tree trunk,
Back up through all the layers of the earth,
And into your body.
Now imagine the plane is boarding.
You get in line,
But you feel at ease and at peace.
You walk down to the plane,
And you find your seat with great ease.
You're able to stow your baggage easily,
And you're grateful for that.
Your seat area is clean,
And you find it more comfortable than expected.
You find that the people surrounding you are pleasant,
And also seem to be in a state of peace.
And you visualize the plane taking off.
It's taking off on time,
And the takeoff is smooth and effortless.
The plane is gliding through the air effortlessly.
Any noises on the plane relax you deeper,
And you remain calm.
And when the plane lands,
It's a perfect landing,
And you arrive safely,
In a state of grounded peace.
You're grateful for this easeful travel,
Feeling refreshed and rejuvenated,
And take a moment to feel how good it will feel when you arrive at your destination.
Take a moment to have gratitude for yourself,
And for this moment,
And may you be at peace and travel mindfully.
