This meditation is intended to provide a safe,
Focused,
And peaceful commute.
If at any point you become distracted or too relaxed,
Please save it for another time.
I invite you to become aware of your body and feel the seat supporting you while remaining focused and aware of the road and your surroundings at all times.
You will remain in a relaxed and aware state.
Begin to become aware of your breath and making each inhale and exhale a little longer.
Breathing in and expanding the abdomen first and then filling up the chest,
Allowing the breath to relax you into this moment.
Take inventory of how your body is feeling.
Are there areas of tension?
What is your current mental and emotional state?
And bring your awareness to your head and note if there's any areas where you can relax and let go a little bit more.
Relaxing between your eyebrows,
Relaxing the muscles in your face and jaw,
Relaxing the tongue all the way down to its base,
And bringing a slight smile.
Your body is relaxing while you remain focused on the road.
Bringing your awareness to your neck and shoulders.
Can you breathe into this area and let go a little bit with each exhale?
The tension is not yours to carry any longer.
Letting go of the tension in your arms and hands.
Notice the sensation in your palms.
Are your hands relaxed?
And now move down to your chest and heart area.
Relaxing more with each exhale.
Imagine a smile moving through your heart and chest.
Relaxing deeper while remaining focused on the road and moving down to your abdomen.
And relaxing with each inhale and exhale.
Allowing the breath to become soft and moving down to your pelvis and relaxing more into the seat that's supporting you.
And feeling your legs and feet.
Moving them into a relaxed position while remaining focused.
Noticing if you can feel any sensations from the bottom of your feet,
On the pedal,
Or in your shoe.
And now bringing an awareness to your entire body.
Your nervous system is in a state of relaxation.
Yet you remain focused and aware of the road and your surroundings.
Being present in your body while driving.
Noticing your surroundings and the nature that lines the road or highway.
Taking in the beauty that surrounds you.
Are you able to have gratitude for being able to see this beauty that surrounds you?
Maybe it's one lone tree or the mountains off in the distance.
Have a moment of gratitude for the vehicle that's carrying you to your destination.
What amenities do you enjoy?
Have gratitude for this vehicle for always carrying you where you want to go and arriving safely.
Remember,
You have the ability to choose how you feel.
You cannot control the traffic or other drivers.
But you can control how you feel.
Take your moment to set your intention for the day.
What type of person do you want to be?
And how do you want to show up when you reach your destination?
