Thank you for choosing to travel mindfully with us today.

This meditation is intended to be used while driving in the car.

If at any point you become too relaxed or distracted,

Please turn it off and save it for another time.

I invite you to bring all your awareness into this present moment.

Feel yourself supported by your seat and relax deeper into the seat while maintaining your focus on the road and bring your awareness to your breath.

Just noticing how it feels when you inhale and exhale.

Does it feel easy and smooth or does it feel forced and tense?

See if you can soften your belly to release some tension.

And see if you can just observe the breath and allow it to come and go as it wants,

Allowing it to flow easily.

See if you can maintain an awareness of your breath and how it feels while staying focused on the road and your surroundings.

Is this different than how you typically drive?

What are you noticing about your breath now?

Bring your awareness to your head and your face.

See if you can soften the place between your eyebrows,

Relaxing any tension you have in your forehead.

Bring your awareness to your mouth and jaw,

Releasing and relaxing any tension,

Relaxing your tongue all the way down to its root.

Allowing it to fill your lower palate and bringing a slight smile to your mouth.

Having a moment of gratitude for yourself.

Bring your shoulders up to your ears and relax them down and back.

You can do that one or two more times if that feels okay.

Relaxing the tension in your neck and shoulders.

Letting go of anything you've been carrying with you energetically,

Emotionally.

Moving your awareness into your arms and hands.

Notice where they are.

Notice your grip on the steering wheel,

Are your hands clenched or relaxed?

See if you can notice any sensation in the palms of your hands.

This is a practice of being present while relaxing at the same time.

Dropping down into the center of your chest,

Into your heart.

Seeing a smile move through your chest.

Noticing what it feels like in this space.

Relaxing and letting go with each exhale.

Dropping down to your lower abdomen and pelvis.

See if with each inhale,

You can inhale alert,

Focus,

And on your exhale,

You can relax and release.

Softening your belly with each inhale and relaxing with your exhale.

Relaxing deeper into this seat,

Allowing it to fully support you.

Moving down into your legs and feet.

Notice how they're feeling.

Can they be in a more comfortable or relaxed position?

Can you notice any sensations on the soles of your feet?

What does it feel like to have your foot on a pedal?

While staying alert,

See if you can bring your awareness to your entire body all at once.

While focusing on driving.

What does your body and nervous system feel like now?

What does it feel like to drive in this state?

Bring your awareness to the nature that surrounds you or lines the highway or road.

Just witnessing what's around you without judgment.

Having gratitude for the trees,

The clouds in the sky.

Maybe you can see flowers or white snow.

Can you notice any aspects of beauty?

Maybe you take this road quite frequently.

Maybe you become aware of something different this time.

Have a moment of gratitude for your car.

For it being able to carry you wherever you want to go.

Thank it for getting you where you want to go safely today.

Allowing yourself to stay relaxed but present.

Just observing what's going on around you.

Continuing to focus on your breathing.

Think about what type of person you want to be when you show up at your destination.

How do you want to show up in the world?

How do you want others to remember you?

Do you want to be remembered as a loving and kind human?

Someone who is compassionate and warm?

What qualities do you want to bring with you today?

Know that whatever you need,

You can find support within yourself.

If you're needing strength today,

There is great strength within you.

If you're needing courage,

There is great courage within you.

If you're needing compassion,

There is infinite compassion within you.

You can call upon these qualities to join you.

Know that whoever you want to be,

You're capable of being.

Think about the type of energy you want to exude when you get to your destination.

And remind yourself that you have the ability to choose how you show up in the world.

That was beautiful! Just what I needed to ground myself during my drive.
