Good morning and welcome to a brand new day.
This practice is for those who may have woken up a little bit anxious and just need a few minutes to recalibrate.
Through today's practice,
We're going to invite a sigh breath.
It's going to be an inhale through the nose and a sigh out of the mouth,
And you can make the sigh as vocal or as subtle as you want it to be.
My invitation to you is that you use this sigh breath to embody the feeling that you want to feel throughout the day ahead.
Maybe it's confidence,
Maybe it's clarity,
Maybe it's creativity,
Whatever it is for you.
Let the breath be the vehicle to this embodied feeling.
When you're ready,
Just finding your place as you are now,
Noticing where your body is making contact with the earth.
Can you trust that the earth is holding you and you can let go some of that tension?
Maybe noticing where you're even holding on to tension in the body.
Is it behind the eyes,
Between the eyebrows,
In the shoulders,
The belly,
The knees?
Can you send a few loving breaths to these areas and just notice how we can give a little bit of softening?
I invite you to even shake out these areas if that feels good for you and return back to the center of your body in the heart.
Acknowledging that our heartbeat shows us that we have woken up to a new day,
That we get to be present and alive for.
What a gift.
And when you're ready,
Let's go through our sigh breath,
Taking an inhale through the nose and sighing it out.
Letting that sigh be as big or small as you like and continuing in a flow,
Letting the breath come back in through the nose and sigh it out,
Taking another inhale.
Let this be a continual flow at your pace,
Your speed,
Your depth.
How can you make this breath feel as nourishing as possible to the body?
Can you allow the inhales to come in through the nose and guide that breath towards the back of the head so you can feel a little bit more expansion in the ribs and the belly?
Taking our last five breaths,
Can you allow each inhale to embody that feeling?
Let that feeling that you want to feel come into the body and with the exhales,
Let it expand around you.
With your final cycle of breath,
Inhaling that feeling,
Exhaling,
Expanding it around you and let's move into a hold,
Taking a deep breath in through the nose and hold at the top,
Squeezing the body.
Can you let that energy rise from the bottom of your feet to the top of your head,
Squeezing it up through the top of the head and almost allowing it to be a light source,
An anchor,
Holding your presence centered in your body,
But let it expand above and around you.
Can you feel the presence of the cells in your body waking up and trusting that you have the power to come back to your presence,
Releasing that breath when that feels complete for you and just coming back into your body?
Placing the hands on the heart and sending yourself the trust and the love that you deserve that the day ahead will hold exactly what you need,
The lessons,
The connections,
The experiences.
I wish you a beautiful day ahead and I hope to breathe again with you soon.
