If you are here,
You are probably struggling with getting to sleep at night.
Staying asleep.
Or just feeling like you've had a restful night's sleep.
If you have ruled out any physical medical reasons why you cannot sleep and find yourself simply overthinking,
Unable to switch off or perhaps worrying a lot at night,
You are not alone.
It is estimated that one in three adults worldwide suffer with insomnia.
Stress is one of the biggest if not the biggest disruptors of sleep.
Stress disrupts everything.
We know that meditation reduces stress.
So,
Meditate before bed.
Release stress.
Sleep better.
Sounds simple,
Doesn't it?
But not all meditation is created equal.
Some meditation calls for us to be mindful.
Aware.
Alert,
Focused,
But other meditation practices like breathwork to calm the nervous system,
Body scans to release tension,
Night journaling to release thoughts and worries,
And sleep visualizations or sleep stories to immerse you in another world.
Can work wonders at helping you nod off at night or get back to sleep during a night wake up.
The aim of these types of meditation tracks is not to keep your attention.
But rather to help you quieten your mind.
Release the here and now and remove that feeling of desperation to sleep.
Through distraction.
Monotonous narration.
And immersion.
Also,
Not all meditation will help you to sleep.
But pick the right type and you should experience the benefits.
If you'd like to explore any of these practices with me.
