Welcome to a night of animal wisdom and rest.

Last time,

Mouse helped us find peace in each small step.

Tonight,

Rabbit will show us that home is always within.

As you listen to Rabbit's wisdom,

I invite your inner guide to consider,

What does home mean?

It was another tranquil night in the forest,

When Rabbit hopped softly through the meadow,

Returning to his hidden burrow.

As your mind moves towards the deep woods,

While you snuggle inside your cosy bed,

You notice the moon light your way.

At the edge of the woods sits Ashby Cat,

A silver tabby with a white face and pink ears.

She sits with her tail wrapped around her paws,

Seeking the answers to her busy mind.

Before we follow Ashby Cat into the wood,

Let's get comfortable.

Take a few moments to settle into the best position for you.

Maybe you want to move your arm a little,

Or bend your leg.

Allow your body to find a restful place.

Allow your mind to settle.

The only thing to do here is rest.

There is nothing else that is needed.

Nowhere else to be.

No expectations.

Nothing for you to attend to.

Everything can be picked up when you wake.

Right now it is your time to rest.

Take a deep breath in and let it slowly out.

Let your breath find its natural rhythm.

If your mind starts to wander,

Just bring your attention back to your breath and the cosiness of your bed.

You are completely safe.

You are supported.

Mother Nature is holding you and guiding you.

Rabbit moved across the meadow.

His nose twitched as he sniffed the sweet scent of clover.

The moon lit the sky above and created a guide for the familiar path that led to his burrow.

Each time he returned here,

He felt a deep sense of peace,

Knowing that he could create a safe space wherever he was.

As Rabbit reached his burrow,

He spotted Ashby Cat waiting close by,

Her green eyes wide.

Rabbit had heard from the wind that the little cat was seeking answers and he was thrilled to be able to offer his wisdom.

Rabbit sat with all four paws on the ground.

His floppy ears framed his face so that Ashby Cat wouldn't be afraid.

His brown eyes looked deep into Ashby Cat's heart.

Her tail had formed the shape of a question mark.

Rabbit waited for the question to come in its own time.

Where do you feel most at home,

Said Ashby Cat's tail.

Rabbit looked at his burrow,

The entrance hidden behind thick grasses.

He knew the feeling of the soft earth inside and how cool the ground felt wrapped around him.

The walls of his burrow were curved and enclosed him in a cocoon of safety.

He recalled the day he'd made it his burrow,

One of many,

And he considered Ashby Cat's question.

He realized the home was in his heart,

That many burrows could be made,

But he carried his home with him,

His sense of peace.

That was why he could let the world melt away and enjoy the warmth of this little nest.

You're already home,

Rabbit said.

Take it with you.

As you fall deeper into sleep,

Imagine yourself as Rabbit,

Finding your home within you.

Let the small details around you,

The feel of your blanket,

The softness of your pillow,

Guide you into deeper rest.

You're already home.

Take it with you.

As you drift deeper into sleep,

Allow your mind to rest.

Know that you are safe and secure.

That the stillness and safety you seek is within you now and always has been.

It is yours to revisit whenever you want.

In our next lesson,

We'll visit Frog and learn to trust the gentle flow of life.

Until then,

Rest,

My friend,

And carry the wisdom of the animals with you for a deep,

Restful sleep.
