Welcome to this short and simple grounding meditation to help you feel more stable and rooted so that you have a solid foundation.

When there's too much going on,

Our thoughts are racing,

We tend to worry and feel anxious and maybe unstable.

Coming into a simple grounding visualization or listening to a grounding meditation can help us come back to center and root down again so that we feel more stable and are better able to function throughout the day.

So let's get started.

See if you can find a comfortable seated position either in a chair or on the ground and then you can move around as much as you want so that you can get comfortable while sitting up with a straight spine.

Imagine that your spine is a string and at the top of the string someone is pulling it up so that it lengthens your spine and you're sitting up a little taller.

This helps us breathe a little easier and helps the energy flow through us better.

Now bring awareness to your breath and inhale into your belly.

Exhale it out with a sigh.

On the next breath,

When you exhale,

See if your shoulders can fall down away from your ears a little bit more.

And on the next breath after,

On the exhale,

Allow your tongue to fall away from the roof of the mouth and soften the eyes.

Now visualize around your waist,

Around your hips,

A tree trunk,

A really sturdy tree trunk.

And this tree trunk is going to grow down into the earth.

Inhale into belly.

Exhale,

Allow the tree trunk to break past ground into the earth.

Inhale,

Belly gently expands.

Exhale,

Imagine the trunk growing a taproot,

Digging deeper into mother earth.

Inhale,

Belly gently expands.

Exhale,

The taproot growing down toward the center of the earth.

Inhale.

Exhale,

Visualize roots growing out wide in all directions.

Inhale,

Belly expands.

Exhale,

Roots growing down and out to the sides.

Keep slowly breathing.

And with every exhale,

Seeing and feeling as if you have roots extending down into mother earth.

Notice if you can feel yourself really anchoring into the earth.

And as your roots get anchored into the earth,

Can you feel more stable?

Can you feel the groundedness within your body?

Keep breathing and imagining the roots until you can feel a sense of stability,

Rootedness,

And groundedness.

And notice if you can also feel mother earth holding you.

Can you feel this even exchange of you grounding down into mother earth and also of mother earth lovingly holding you in place?

Keep breathing and allow the grounded feeling,

The feeling of being held,

Sink into your body.

Let the feeling of stability and rootedness really absorb and imprint into every cell of your body.

When you notice a shift in your energy,

When you notice that you feel more grounded,

Start to take a deep breath again into your belly and exhale out.

Gently open your eyes,

Come back into the room.

And when you're ready,

Stand up as a more grounded and stable you.
