Welcome to this guided meditation,
Created to support you in your process of letting go and trusting.
Trusting the universe,
Trusting others,
And trusting yourself.
Many of us had to put up protective shields during parts of our lives,
And for good reason.
However,
We may be at a point where we don't really need the shields anymore,
But our body does not know how to let them go.
Here we will learn how to trust and let the shields go down a little more,
So that our light can shine bright.
Let's start by finding a comfortable position wherever you are.
Maybe you're laying down,
Or maybe you're seated.
Whatever it is,
Get yourself super comfortable.
Notice if you can have a straight spine,
So that your breath can flow easily through you.
We'll start by bringing our awareness to our breath,
Without changing it at first.
Just noticing its rhythm and its flow.
Where is the breath going in when you inhale?
Feeling the warm air through your nostrils when you exhale.
And now when you inhale,
Can you send your breath down to your belly?
Feeling your belly expand on the inhale,
And feeling the belly fall back toward the spine on the exhale.
I invite you to try holding the breath after the exhale,
Maybe for a count of five,
Before you inhale again.
Notice how that feels.
Do that a few more times.
Maybe you want to try pausing for longer than a count of five.
And then go back to letting your body just naturally breathe itself.
Once you feel nicely situated,
Imagine yourself outside,
Walking toward a green grassy hill.
And on one side of this hill,
There's a door,
A wooden door,
That you can open and go inside.
Inside a small cave,
The size of a small room.
And in this cave,
You notice that the walls are made of red orange clay,
And that the dirt on the ground is compacted,
Yet soft,
A nice deep red dirt.
And as you walk in,
You notice light coming from a fireplace.
It's warm and cozy in here,
With a hint of coolness from the earth.
And notice how comfortable the temperature in this little cave feels.
And as you look around,
You notice a rug on the ground.
Big soft pillows on the ground,
And a large warm fleece blanket.
This is going to be your sanctuary for the rest of this guided meditation.
And because it's going to be your sanctuary,
Take some time to add whatever features you'd like into this cozy cave.
Maybe you'd like to hang up some streamed lights.
Maybe you'd like to add some flowers or plants.
Take this time to fill up the space with whatever soothes and comforts you.
And then when you're ready,
Find a spot on the rug next to the soft pillows and have a seat.
And as you have a seat,
Notice surrounding your body a giant eggshell.
And this eggshell is pretty thick,
Very protective,
And you feel extremely safe within it.
However,
See if you can also notice how this eggshell may constrict you a little bit.
We're going to take some time to let this eggshell crack.
This protective shell that we have around us definitely helps us to feel safe,
But at times it also constricts us.
So let's see if we can start having this shell slowly disintegrate.
Imagine that there's a crack in the shell on your right side,
And this crack starts to grow and form an imperfect circle around the side of your right arm.
And you notice that this piece eventually falls off.
And once it falls off down onto the ground,
Light starts coming through the hole on your right side.
You may start feeling a little exposed.
Sit with that for a bit,
That exposed feeling.
And remind yourself that you're inside a very safe space inside this cave.
And allow your body to adjust to the safety of the cave with that right side exposed.
And once you start feeling safe and secure again,
Notice that there's a crack starting to form on your left side.
And this crack starts forming an imperfect elliptical shape around your left side.
Eventually another piece of your eggshell falls off and onto the ground,
Exposing that left side arm.
Notice how you feel with this side exposed and vulnerable.
And then slowly remind yourself that you are inside the safe space of this cave of warmth and soothing items.
And allow your body to adjust to this feeling of safety again.
Even though you have two sides that are a little more exposed now,
But light is shining out through them,
Your light.
Now start to feel this crack happening in your back behind your heart space.
This crack that's starting to form in the shape of a very imperfect square.
And part of the eggshell falls off again behind you,
Onto the ground,
Exposing your back.
And allowing more light to shine through.
Again notice how it feels to have part of your backside exposed.
It may be a little uncomfortable at first until you have your body adjust again.
Recalibrating to this new you that's a little more open and exposed.
And letting your body know that you're safe.
You are still safe here.
Allowing your body to adjust to the three open sides of you.
Learning to trust and be with this openness.
And now notice a crack happening in the front of your body.
In front of your heart space.
And imagining this crack forming the shape of an imperfect triangle.
You can decide how big or small this triangle will be.
And once it's cracked all the way around,
Allow it to fall down onto the ground.
And here you are with your heart space exposed.
How does it feel?
How does it feel with the light shining out from your heart space?
Again it may take a moment to adjust to this opening.
Recognizing your insides that you are okay.
That you're safe here.
And you can trust and adjust to the openings on all four sides of you.
Noticing them open and exposed and you starting to feel okay with that.
Eventually the whole rest of the eggshell all around you starts forming cracks everywhere.
When those pieces are ready,
Allow them to fall off and down to the ground.
As more and more pieces fall off,
More and more light starts to shine through.
Sit here feeling all the parts of this eggshell falling off.
And feeling your whole being lighting up this room,
Lighting up this cave.
There may still be a little bit of discomfort,
But allow the feeling of trust and safety within the cave,
Within your sanctuary here.
Allow this feeling of safety to embed within.
Allow the feeling of trust start to form.
Of trust starting to grow within you.
As you let go of that protective layer and allow yourself to be the light that you are.
When you're ready,
In your own time,
You can imagine yourself this being of light getting up from the floor.
Looking down at all those broken eggshell pieces that you've let go of.
That protective layer that served its purpose at certain times in your life.
Thank it for protecting you when you needed it.
But at this point in your life,
You no longer need it.
When you're ready,
Thank this space,
This sanctuary of yours,
Knowing that you can come back anytime you want to feel safe and comforted.
This is your sanctuary.
And when you're ready,
You can take your light being toward the door,
Open it,
And step outside as this new you,
Rebirthed out of the eggshell,
Full of light.
