Welcome to the inner child meditation where you will meet your inner child have a conversation with them and see what it is they may need and if you can provide that for them.
So let's start by settling in to your space.
Take three deep cleansing breaths into your belly exhaling out longer than the inhale and with every exhale letting your body release more and more.
Follow the flow of the breath as it moves through the body.
No need to alter the flow just letting it move easily and freely through the body.
Nice deep breath in and even sigh it out through the mouth with a long exhale.
Taking this moment to call yourself back from wherever you've been during the day.
Draw your energies back home to your center.
Bringing your mind and your energy into the here and now.
Allowing your jaws to soften.
Allowing the small muscles around your eyes to soften and let your mind empty what is no longer needed.
Let it go,
Flow out and away and allow your body to release what's no longer needed.
Letting it go flowing out and away.
Let's begin by imagining your sanctuary.
This is a space where you feel completely safe,
Where you feel nurtured.
This might be a space somewhere out in nature,
Maybe it's a garden,
Maybe it's a cottage,
A park,
A forest,
The beach.
Your sanctuary.
What does it look like?
What's around you?
Imagining all the things that will bring you comfort in this space.
And as you look around your space,
You notice a child.
And as you see this child,
You notice that this is your inner child.
What age are they?
What do they look like right now?
See what it is they're wearing,
What their hair looks like.
Just observing them right now.
And can you look them in the eyes?
And notice the breath of your inner child.
Can you breathe with them?
When they inhale,
You inhale.
When they exhale,
You exhale.
And as you approach your inner child,
Can you ask them if it's okay if you sit next to them?
And if it's not,
Notice where it is you can sit that's comfortable for them.
And notice how they're feeling.
Can you feel what they feel?
Can you ask your inner child what it is they need?
Taking your time to listen.
What do they need?
And what can you say in response to your inner child?
Can you give them what they need right now?
And if you can't,
Maybe let them know that this might be possible for you at another time.
But if you can give them what they need,
Take this time to do that.
And then asking if it's okay if perhaps you can hold their hand or give them a warm hug.
Letting them feel that you love them.
Letting your inner child feel loved and safe.
And seen.
Taking your time.
Notice how they feel now.
Can you ask your inner child what they would like now?
Maybe it's to play,
Maybe it's to stay held,
Or something else.
Take your time to listen and see if you can give them what they would like.
Now slowly look your inner child in the eyes.
Thank them for what they had to tell you.
And remind them that you are always here for them.
Anytime they need you,
You can always return to this space and be there for them.
When you feel it's time,
Say your goodbyes with the knowing and reminder that you can always meet again.
And in your own time when you're ready,
Taking a nice deep inhale,
Filling up your belly,
Filling up the chest,
And exhale it out through the mouth.
Very nice work.
You can come back to this meditation anytime you or your inner child need to connect.
