Have you ever been in a situation when your body is so upregulated,
Whether it was a discussion that you had that didn't go the way you wanted to,
An email or something that just hit your system,
And you're just feeling this need to calm down,
To find some peace,
To soothe the mind,
And we go on these beautiful apps to find a meditation,
To find a peaceful walk,
And at the end of it,
It just doesn't work.
The body still has that buzz.
It still has all that energy going through it.
My name is Lillian,
And I am a core energetics practitioner,
And that's a type of somatic therapy.
In our work,
We call this as charge.
There's a lot of charge in the body.
And sometimes going to your head and trying to soothe the mind is not serving what the body needs.
Because sometimes the body needs to discharge.
So I'm going to talk to you about a few different ways that may be a little bit unconventional,
But if you stay with me to the end of this video,
I will bring it back full circle to tell you how these different practices can actually help you calm your mind.
So one of my favorite ones is stomping.
Like if you can get outside in the grass and actually just stomp,
Making some noise,
You know,
Like making sure that we're using our bodies.
There's shaking,
Like shaking the body,
Moving in different ways.
One of my favorite ones is dancing.
So like actually getting these things out of your body,
Using the body that is feeling all of this charge to discharge and to release.
There is sounding there's another video here that you can check out about different ways to discharge through your voice so sounding making sounds if you don't have a place where you can be really loud you can grab a pillow and just like scream into a pillow but there's a very important thing that that we must do right after we do this okay so it's not just about the catharsis it's not just about like releasing all of this energy and putting all this out there but about bringing it back.
And tuning in.
So when you discharge,
When you release all of this energy,
When you scream into a pillow,
When you do,
You know,
One of these cookie things that I'm suggesting here.
Bring it back to the body.
So after you finish,
Put your hand on your chest,
One on your belly and just breathe.
And notice,
Notice the tingly,
Notice all the sensations.
That is your body slowly discharging.
You can hang over and just allow your body to melt or lay down.
But the important thing here is to feel.
To allow the body to release.
But then bring it back,
Almost like if you're,
You know,
Covering yourself in this nice little peaceful blanket at the end of all of this movement.
Soothing ourselves in different ways.
So give it a try.
Let me know what you think.
Thank you so much for watching.
My name is Lillian and I will see you.
