Hello and welcome to this guided meditation and sleep affirmations track.
My name is Jeremiah Hoft and today I will guide you at first through a progressive relaxation practice so we can relax the body,
Relax the mind,
Ease and release any tension of the day and slip into a deep,
Beautiful,
Healing and restful sleep.
During this I will be repeating some powerful affirmations for you with bridge words to help make these affirmations more believable and accessible by acknowledging where we might be at now and gradually bringing you towards a more desired belief or feeling.
So if you haven't already,
I invite you to do anything you need to do to prepare for sleep and get comfortably into your bed.
You can pause this track if you need to and we will begin shortly.
Let's begin by taking a deep breath in through the nose,
Filling all the way up to the top,
Holding briefly here and then letting go.
We'll take another breath in through the nose,
Filling,
Filling all the way up,
Pausing briefly at the top and letting go with a sigh and letting any energy out,
Any stress or tension,
Any worry.
And take another breath in,
Filling all the way to the top,
Holding briefly again.
Ah,
And then just letting it fall out.
Very good.
Now we will begin by bringing our awareness to our toes.
See if you can feel each individual toe.
Just become aware of it.
Bringing your awareness from your toes to the tops of your feet,
The bottoms of your feet.
And again,
Just being aware of the aliveness of the fact that your foot is here,
Perhaps feeling the sheets against your feet,
The temperature of them or the softness of the fabric.
And moving our awareness now up into the shins and the calves.
And as you bring this awareness of the aliveness of each of these parts of your body,
Also become aware of any tension that you might be holding,
Any tightness,
Any gripping.
And as you exhale,
Just let it fall out.
Moving your awareness now up to the knees,
Feeling your quads,
The backs of your thighs.
And again,
Allowing of any tension,
Just letting it release.
Pairing the awareness with your inhale and the letting go with your exhale.
Moving now into the hips,
Where so many of us hold so much tension.
And giving yourself the permission to just let go.
Moving on up through the torso,
Feeling the spine,
The abdomen muscles,
The lower back,
Your upper back and your chest.
And letting go of any tension or gripping.
And feeling here the weight of your torso being fully supported by your bed,
From gravity and from the earth below.
Mother Gaia,
Always here to support us.
And now moving your awareness in to the collarbones,
The neck,
The shoulders.
Down through the upper arm bones,
Elbows,
Forearms and hands.
Feeling the aliveness in your hands and in every finger,
A place that is often quite easy to perceive and feel.
Even for those not very practiced.
And again here,
Allowing the letting go,
The releasing of gripping.
The exhale and dropping away of tension.
Now moving on up.
Up into the neck,
The jaw.
Up into the neck,
The jaw.
Your lips and mouth area.
Often we hold much tension in the jaw.
Give yourself permission to just let that go.
Let that slip and fall away.
Same thing around the eyes,
The eyebrow,
The third eye and your forehead.
Letting go of any furrowing of the brow.
Feeling the band around the crown of your head and the very tip top of the crown chakra of your head and your scalp.
And letting any tension go here.
Very good.
Now once passing your awareness from the crown of your head down through your face,
Neck,
Shoulders,
Arms,
Torso,
Hips,
Legs,
Knees,
All the way down to your feet and appreciating the lightness and openness which you now feel and the spaciousness that you've created with your intention and awareness.
And if you are still awake,
Just letting go of any goal,
Any intention,
Any thinking or doing.
And opening up to just allowing and being a receptacle to receive.
