Abundance in Midlife Welcome,
My name is Leanna and this practice is for women in midlife,
Perimenopause and menopause,
Who are ready to soften old scarcity stories and open to a deeper sense of abundance in their lives.
Abundance is not about money,
It's about time,
Energy,
Support,
Love,
Creativity and the quiet knowing that you are held by life.
In midlife,
When so much is changing,
It is easy to feel the opposite,
Not enough time,
Not enough energy,
Not enough of you to go around.
This meditation is an invitation to remember that you are not meant to carry everything alone and that you are worthy of receiving.
Find a comfortable position,
Either sitting or lying down,
Let your body be supported,
Loosen anything tight.
When you're ready,
Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Begin by noticing the contact between your body and the surface beneath you.
Feel the weight of your legs,
Your hips,
Your back and your head.
Imagine that with each exhale,
Your body can yield a little more to this support,
As if the earth itself is holding you.
Take a slow breath in through the nose and a soft,
Easy exhale out through your mouth or nose.
Again,
Breathing in and slowly breathing out.
If it helps,
You can place one hand on your belly and one hand on your heart.
Feel the warmth of your own touch,
A simple reminder,
I am here for me.
As you breathe,
Silently repeat,
In this moment,
I allow myself to pause.
In this moment,
I allow myself to pause.
I am safe enough to receive.
In this moment,
I allow myself to pause.
I am safe enough to receive.
Let those words land wherever they want in your body.
Now bring your awareness down to your feet.
Let your toes,
The soles,
The heels soften.
Imagine roots extending from the soles of your feet deep into the earth,
Connecting you to something steady and reliable beneath you.
Let that feeling of grounding rise slowly into your ankles and your calves,
Your knees and your thighs.
These parts of you have carried you through so many seasons of your life.
On your next exhale,
Invite any tightness here to melt,
Even just a little.
Bring your attention to your hips and pelvis,
The centre of your great power and great change in midlife.
You might silently say,
Thank you for all you've created,
Carried and released.
Allow the muscles around your hips to loosen,
As if you're setting down heavy bags you've held for a long time.
Move your awareness into your belly,
The place that often absorbs stress and self-criticism.
Let your belly be soft.
Feel it rise and fall with your breath.
With each inhale,
Imagine breathing in kindness.
With each exhale,
Letting go of old tension,
Old stories,
Old expectations.
Now bring your attention to your chest and your heart.
This is where love,
Grief,
Disappointment and hope often live together.
They do not need to fix any of it.
Simply acknowledge what you feel and imagine your heart being held in a warm,
Gentle light.
Soften your shoulders,
Your throat,
Your jaw.
Smooth the space around your eyes and across your forehead.
Your body does not need to do anything right now,
Except rest.
Now imagine that in front of you there is a soft,
Warm light,
Like the glow of a gentle sunrise or a candlelight.
This light represents the abundance available to you in this season of your life.
It is not forcing itself on you.
It is simply here,
Waiting,
Patient.
In this light are all forms of abundance your heart is quietly longing for.
Enough rest for your body.
Enough support so you don't have to do everything alone.
Enough money to feel safe and spacious.
Enough love,
Kindness and respect from others and from yourself.
Enough time for what truly matters to you now.
For a moment notice if there is any part of you that wants to step back from this light.
Perhaps a voice that says,
I don't deserve this.
Or,
There's never enough for me.
Or,
It's too late.
You don't need to push that voice away.
Just notice it,
Acknowledge it and say gently,
I hear you and I'm willing to try something new.
Now imagine taking a small step closer to the light of abundance.
As you do,
Feel it touching the front of your body,
Your face,
Your heart,
Your belly.
It is warm but gentle,
Like sunlight on your skin.
With each inhale imagine drawing this warm abundant energy into your chest.
With each exhale imagine it spreading through your whole body,
Down your arms and legs and all the way to the fingertips and toes.
If it helps,
You can place your hands on your heart and imagine this light filling your hands and then flowing into you.
As you breathe in this light,
Let's invite some gentle,
Believable affirmations.
Not to force anything,
But to open a door.
You can repeat them silently after me or simply let them wash over you.
I am open to receiving more support in my life.
It is safe for me to have needs met.
I am learning to believe that there is enough.
Enough time,
Enough money,
Enough love for me.
I am worthy of rest,
Joy and ease.
Not only of hard work.
I allow abundance to flow to me in ways that I can see and in ways I cannot yet imagine.
Notice how your body responds to these words.
There may be agreement.
There may be a doubt.
Both are welcome.
You are simply planting a seed.
If any affirmation feels particularly nourishing,
Stay with it for a few breaths.
For example,
You might choose,
It is safe for me to receive.
Repeat it softly with each exhale.
Begin to imagine that the warmth,
Abundant light in front of you is gently stepping closer until it surrounds you like a soft cocoon.
You are held by the earth beneath you,
By your own breath and by life itself.
Take a slow breath in and a long,
Easy breath out.
Know that whatever you touched in this meditation,
Even if it was only a small shift,
Can continue to ripple through your day and your decisions.
Abundance often begins as an inner posture,
A willingness to treat yourself as worthy of care.
If you are using this as a night time practice,
You can allow yourself to drift into rest,
Trusting that these seeds of abundance will continue to grow while you sleep.
If you are about to move back into your day,
Begin to deepen your breath now.
Gently wiggle your fingers and toes,
Roll your shoulders and take a moment to sense the support beneath you once more.
When you feel ready,
Slowly open your eyes or lift your gaze.
Take a moment to place one hand on your heart and one hand on your belly and silently say,
Thank you,
Body.
Thank you,
Life.
I am open to receiving.
Thank you for practicing with me.
You're welcome to return to this abundance meditation whenever you're feeling yourself slipping back into scarcity or carrying too much alone.
I'd like to just repeat those abundance affirmations again.
I am open to receiving more support in my life.
It is safe for me to have my needs met.
I am learning to believe that there is enough.
Enough time.
Enough money.
Enough love for me.
I am worthy of rest,
Joy and ease.
Not only hard work.
I allow abundance to flow to me in ways that I can see and in ways that I cannot imagine.
Once again,
If any of these affirmations feel particularly nourishing,
Stay with it for a few breaths.
Thank you for practicing with me.
