Inner child healing is the most profound healing work we can do. When we start to do this work, it can be hard to feel connected to our inner children. We often wonder if we're doing it right or if we need to have childhood memories to do this work. This breathwork and meditation is designed as an easy and accessible practice to help you get out of the busy thinking mind and connect deeper with the child inside.

Hi,

And welcome to this daily breathwork and meditation for inner child connecting.

I've designed this audio for you to use easily and accessibly,

So I'd love it if you came back to this meditation and breathwork daily.

Two things that are really important when we start to drop in and connect with our inner child is authenticity and consistency.

So many of us didn't get that unconditional,

Authentic love,

And we certainly didn't get it consistently,

Right?

And so it's really important that when we do this work,

We do the best we can to arrive authentically and do it consistently.

And so this practice,

This breathwork and meditation is really designed for you to come back to on a daily basis,

To really help you begin to build that relationship and that connection with the little one inside of you.

Now there's a few things that I hear often when first beginning this work.

It's like,

How do I know it's working?

And I didn't have childhood memories.

How do I know I'm connecting with her?

And what if I can't do this?

And a lot of things that occur within the thinking mind,

Right?

A lot of times when we're starting something new,

Our mind will kind of hijack us and a lot of fears will come up and we will just wonder,

Is this really working?

Is this worth it?

All of the things.

And I'm here to tell you that this is 100% worth it.

I've been in the self-development space for 20 years and I've been working as a somatic intuitive healer and trauma-informed life coach for five years.

And I can tell you that inner child work moves the needle more than anything else.

Oftentimes as we're doing the work and we're moving towards our goals,

We can have this awareness but yet we still run into the same patterns.

And it's because we haven't gone to the root of the challenges.

And I tell you that this inner child work is the deepest that you can go.

It's the deepest work that you can do.

And so when we really start to work from this place,

From this place of the inner child,

Things start to really change,

Right?

Things start to really change in your life.

And oftentimes we can get enmeshed with our inner child.

So when things get triggered within us,

When we get triggered,

Something happens in our nervous system gets activated and we say things we don't want to say or we do things that we don't want to do or we don't do things that we actually want to do,

Right?

What's coming up oftentimes is the inner child.

The inner child is the one that's triggered.

And so unconsciously you're reminded about something that's happened in the past,

Something that the inner child is remembering.

And so what we do in this meditation is I'll help you start to separate from the little one inside of you.

So she's always going to be part of you,

But she doesn't have to be so enmeshed within you that you get taken over or hijacked by triggers,

Right?

You can start to notice that when the nervous system gets activated or you show up in these patterns,

In these loops,

These cycles that are not exactly how you want to be showing up in your life,

But yet you still keep doing it over and over again.

You can start to see that it's actually the inner child that's showing up and she's the one that wants your attention and your love,

Right?

And so in this breath work and meditation,

I'll help you start to find some space.

And so the adult version of you can speak to that inner child.

And this really is a skill.

This is a beautiful skill that you can start to implement more and more in your life.

When you feel triggered,

You can start to pull away from the little one inside of you Show up as your empowered adult self,

The adult that's here right now,

That's choosing to do this work,

Right?

So you get to show up as that version and support the little one.

And so we're going to run through some breath work first.

Breath work is so incredibly important to help us get out of the thinking mind.

So the mind that says,

I can't do this.

I'm not going to be authentic.

This doesn't feel right.

This is weird.

This is strange.

I don't have childhood memories,

All of the thinking that the mind wants to just hijack you right now in the moment,

We're going to use the breath to help get out of the mind so we can get to those deeper layers of subconscious layers of healing,

Right?

And so I invite you now to go ahead and lie down if that's comfortable for you.

If you need to pause this audio to grab a blanket,

An eye mask,

A yoga mat,

Go into a space that feels inviting and comfortable for you on a bed or on a couch is perfect.

Just allowing yourself to set up a space that feels warming to you.

Maybe you light a candle.

Maybe you let your family know that you're in a healing process.

You're in a,

So you'll need some,

Some space,

Right?

So just taking the time you need to get set up,

Pausing this audio if you need to.

And then when you're ready,

When you're cozy,

I invite you to just take some wiggles,

A little bit of movement first to help you settle into your body even more.

Maybe you flex and extend your toes.

Maybe you move right to left.

Maybe you roll over to one side and then the other.

Maybe you do some shakes.

Maybe you open up your eyes really wide and then close them and then open them.

Just settling into your space.

Now I invite you to just notice your breath however it is in the moment.

And if you're still noticing quite a bit of activity in the mind,

Maybe you place one hand on your forehead or one hand on the back of your head and just imagine the buzzing in your head,

The buzzing of the bees floating out the top of your head.

And if you need just a little bit more time to help get into the body,

If your body's really craving more movement,

Feel free to honor that movement that the body might need before you settle into the breath work.

So maybe now the whole body just does a little shake.

Maybe you take some sounds.

So inhaling deeply,

On the exhale,

Make some sound,

Settling even deeper into your body through movement,

Through breath.

Noticing your breath as it is and then when you're ready,

I invite you to just find a rhythmic breath in and out through the nose and starting to breathe in a three-part breath.

So the three-part breath is one,

Two breaths down into the lower part of the body and then the exhale out the mouth.

So it's one breath down into the first and second chakra,

Down into the belly and then a breath up into the heart and then out through the mouth.

So it's like this.

So I invite you when you're ready to start shifting the breath in this aware way,

Breathing two times in and then one time out.

Notice the inhale and the exhale are out through the mouth.

Breathing one deep inhale down into the first and second chakras and then the second breath moves up into the belly,

Into the heart and then exhaling out the mouth.

So we're breathing down deep the first breath and then moving that breath up into the rib cage,

The heart and then out through the mouth.

That's it.

So this is where we bring in a little bit of work here.

It might feel like a little bit of work and that's okay because we're gonna use this breath in just a moment.

But first,

First we stay in it,

We stay with the focus and the concentration of the breath.

So the mind is going to want to distract you,

Your mind is going to distract you with internal thoughts,

It's going to distract you with external things in the environment and I just invite you for the next few moments to come back to the breath.

That's it,

Full inhale and full exhales.

This is helping to shift into the subconscious mind and so you might start to feel some vibration,

Some energetic changes within your body and just let it be there.

Know that this is all part of this breath work technique to help you shift from this overly active mind into a deeper place of subconscious so you can begin to bring in the little one inside of you.

But first,

We just tap into the breath,

Use the breath in this conscious,

Aware way,

Staying present to the breath,

Deep inhales,

Full exhales.

Maybe start to remove any of the stress from the day,

Any of the load that you might be carrying from the day,

We're just moving it out of the body with the breath.

You can come into a deeper healing state,

A state where you can start to support and love and honor the little one inside of you.

But first,

Use the breath to remove any of that stress,

Anything that may have accumulated throughout the day,

Just move it out now with the breath,

Deep inhales,

Full exhales.

Doing a great job,

Just keep up the breath,

We're only here for a few more minutes.

Just keep moving anything that's in the way,

Any of the blockages that are in the way,

Just move them out.

Anything that doesn't serve you,

You're moving it out now,

Letting it go,

Full inhales,

Full exhales,

Staying with the breath.

That's it,

Let your lips get dry,

You can lick your lips,

You're turning back to the breath,

Allowing it all to float away,

Allowing the day,

The stressors from today to just go on back,

Returning back to the present moment,

Which is the breath.

About another minute here,

So maybe for this last minute you really pick up the breath,

Pick up the pace,

That's it,

Doing a great job,

That's it,

Keep going,

That's it,

Stay with it,

I'm right here with you,

I invite you now to start breathing in and out of the nose,

I invite you now to intuitively either envision the little one inside of you or intuitively knowing that she's there,

Maybe you see her in your mind's eye and she's a certain age,

Maybe she's about one to three or six to ten,

Maybe she's your inner child that's four or five,

Or maybe she's your inner teen,

I invite you now to just envision the little one inside of you as you're taking those full breaths in and out of the nose,

Maybe you see her wearing her favorite outfit,

Maybe she has her hair done in a certain way,

Maybe she's holding her favorite stuffed animal,

Or wearing her favorite shirt,

Or playing with her favorite toy,

And maybe envisioning her is challenging and maybe you just know,

Maybe you just have a knowing that she's there with you,

Or maybe you're making this all up and that's perfect too,

Maybe you see pictures of yourself as a little girl or a little boy,

So starting to let the little one inside of you know that you're the adult,

That you're competent and intelligent and you're always learning,

And that you're here to protect the little one inside of you,

That you're here to be with her,

And that you see her,

And that she matters,

And that her voice matters,

You just let her know that you're strong and capable and resilient,

Maybe you let her know how old you are now,

Let her know of all of the successes you have in life,

Whether you are married and you have children,

Or you have a great career or wonderful friends,

Let her know all of the things that you've been able to accomplish in your life,

And that you're strong and resilient,

And that you see her,

You can let her know that it's safe,

And that you're safe,

And maybe she didn't have parents that really saw her and were able to hear her and be with her when she was in tough emotions,

But that you're here now,

And that you hear her,

And that you're attuned to her emotions,

And that you can be here for her if she needs anything,

And that she just gets to be a kid,

And she gets to play,

Let her know that she is loved,

You can let her know that all of her is welcome,

Her emotions,

Her bigness,

Her creativity,

All of it is welcome,

And it's okay if she doesn't trust you yet,

It's okay if she seems a little distant,

This is a relationship building opportunity,

This is why authenticity and consistency is so important,

You get to show up as your adult self,

Just letting her know that you're here,

And even if she's distant and not trusting of you just yet,

You get to still be that rock for her,

That protector,

And so you get to let her know that,

You get to let her know that when she's ready,

You're here,

You never push the inner child,

You get to just be this loving witness to hold the container for her to be however she is,

And maybe she is ready to open up to you,

If that's the case,

Then you can just ask her,

What do you want to share with me,

Sweet one?

I'm here,

I'm listening,

And then you just open up your heart,

And you allow images or sensations or feelings to emerge,

And that's it,

Take a nice big deep inhale,

Exhale,

Let it go,

Knowing that you can come back to this meditation,

Often not building this relationship with the little one inside of you requires that you come back,

Stay committed,

So that commitment could be daily,

It could be weekly,

It could be twice a month,

You get to decide what that commitment looks like for you,

Letting the little one inside of you know that you'll be back,

You'll be back,

And you'll drop in,

You'll say hello,

And you'll let her know you've got her,

That she's safe,

That she gets to be a kid,

She gets to express herself,

She gets to be messy and in her emotion,

You just let the little one inside of you know that you're the adult,

You've got her,

You're taking care of her,

And then ask one more time if there's anything else that she wants you to know,

And drop in and listen,

Notice if there's any images or sensations that might emerge,

If the little one inside of you is ready and open,

Maybe you reach for her hand or you sit her on your lap,

Give her a hug,

Let her know one more time that you love her,

And if she still is a little distant that's okay,

You get to just send her lots of energetic love from afar,

From your heart to her,

She can feel that energy,

She can feel that love even if it's distant,

Either way I'm proud of you for showing up and doing this work,

This is some of the hardest,

Deepest work that you'll do,

It gets easier the more you do it,

It's like building that relationship,

So I really encourage you to come back to this recording and commit to yourself,

Whatever that commitment might be,

Honoring your capacity and your resourcing at the moment,

So if once a month is all you can do this recording,

That's great,

Or maybe you commit to dropping in for a minute or five minutes every day,

And just let the little one know,

I see you,

I hear you,

I'm here for you,

I love you,

Let her know that you're gonna do some work,

You're gonna be out in the world doing your thing,

But that she's with you,

And that she gets to play and be a kid,

She has nothing to worry about,

Take a nice big deep inhale,

And exhale,

Let it go,

And sending you so much love on this journey,

Imagining that little one inside of you,

Being tucked into your heart as you go about the rest of your day or evening,

Sending you so much love,
