Welcome,
I'm Kim Pask.
Today we'll explore avidya,
The yogic idea of misperception.
Sometimes the mind believes relief comes from something outside ourselves,
A substance,
A behavior,
Or a distraction.
In this practice,
We gently reconnect with the clarity that's already present within awareness.
Feel your body supported,
Notice your breath,
And allow your nervous system to settle down.
Notice sensations within your body,
The rise and fall of your chest,
The contact of your feet with the ground.
Each breath can bring you back to the present moment.
Notice any thoughts about needing something to feel better.
You don't need to push them away,
Just notice them.
Your thoughts are experiences passing through awareness.
Beneath these thoughts is the steady presence that observes.
The part of you that is already whole,
I invite you now to repeat a simple healing mantra.
You may say it silently within or softly aloud if that feels natural.
We will repeat this mantra for five rounds of breath.
Begin by inhaling slowly for a count of four.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Holding at the top and as you exhale,
Gently repeat,
Clarity lives within me.
Allow the words to flow with the breath.
Again,
Inhale slowly for four,
And exhale,
Clarity lives within me.
Continue for five rounds,
Letting each breath carry the mantra naturally on each exhale.
Once you've repeated your five rounds,
Begin to rest in your own awareness,
And you'll hear my voice again in about 30 seconds.
Begin to feel your feet on the earth.
Notice the breath moving naturally through you,
Slowly bringing movement back to your fingers,
And back into the moment.
Thank you for practicing with me.
Remember,
You can return to this practice whenever you desire more clarity.
Through mind and movement,
May you move toward peace and steadiness.
