You are that.
The purpose of this practice is to resonate with the finer frequencies of peace,
Love and light and rest as the boundless,
Compassionate awareness that you are.
To prepare for this practice,
Call to mind a sacred place that embodies spiritual awareness to you.
This can be a place you've been,
A place you are in,
Or a place you imagine.
And call to mind a being who embodies spiritual realization,
Whom you will meet in this place.
You are going to experience this place and this being as a portal to resting in and as your essential being.
The principle behind this practice is that whatever you focus on,
Whatever you shine the light of awareness on and embody,
You then experience,
Amplify and share.
You grow the expression of that.
You experience becoming that and realize that on the level of essence,
You already are that.
Let's begin by finding a comfortable,
Upright,
Seated position.
Have your feet firmly on the ground and parallel with each other.
Gently cup your hands in your lap in an open,
Receptive posture,
With the tips of your thumbs touching lightly.
Lightly close your eyes.
Take a moment to settle in your seat.
Be present in your body.
Be present in your environment.
Allow yourself to be just as you are.
Notice how,
When you allow yourself to be just as you are,
You relax a little bit more.
Now,
Consider your intention for this practice.
Why is this important to you?
Consider that this practice is not only for you,
That the effect of this practice extends to all your loved ones,
To everyone you interact with,
And even more widely and invisibly,
To all beings and throughout our collective consciousness and all that is.
You are an essential part of a greater whole.
Consider dedicating this practice to the well-being and realization of all beings,
That we all might connect with those expressions of spiritual realization that we resonate most with,
And through that resonance,
Transform our consciousness individually and collectively.
Now begin to settle even deeper into present moment awareness and deep relaxation by focusing down into the soles of your feet contacting the ground.
Awaken sensory awareness here in your feet and your toes,
And allow your toes and feet to soften and relax as if they are melting deep down into the earth.
Feel the solid support and grounding presence of the earth underneath you.
Allow that feeling of grounded presence to flow up through your feet,
Up through your shins and calves,
Up through your knees and thighs,
Into your hips and pelvic bowl,
Resting down in your seat.
Feel the weight of your body resting down in your pelvic bowl,
Resting down in your seat,
Resting down on the earth.
Focus into your palms and fingers resting cupped in your lap.
Awaken sensory awareness here in your hands.
Allow your hands to soften and relax as if they are melting down into your legs.
Feel the soft openness in your hands connected to the soft openness in your heart.
As your hands soften and relax,
Allow your arms and shoulders to relax down,
Releasing any tension in your shoulders,
Your neck,
And your head.
Imagine and feel as if a string is attached to the top of your head,
Drawing your spine gently upright like a string of luminous pearls.
Feel your spine gently stretched from your perineum and tailbone,
Right up through the top of your head.
Feel your spine like a channel of light flowing upwards,
Right up through your crown and opening to the sky above.
Feel the tingling aliveness at your crown as the light of awareness pours in through the top of your head,
Awakening clarity.
Now,
Tuck your chin just slightly to gently lengthen the back of your neck.
Lightly close your lips and breathe in and out through your nose.
Rest your tongue upon the roof of your mouth,
With the tip of your tongue touching the gum line behind your upper front teeth.
Soften and relax your tongue here.
Softening your tongue sends a relaxation signal through your vagus nerve,
From the center of your brain,
Down through your heart,
Down through your abdomen,
And out through your whole body.
As you feel this relaxation,
Smile,
A subtle smile of calm happiness,
Of appreciation and gratitude for this time to connect deeply with a place and a being that represents spiritual realization to you.
Allow this relaxed feeling of smiling to shine through your eyes.
Release any tension from your eyebrows and your forehead.
Allow this relaxed feeling of smiling to flow down through your crown,
Down through your brain,
Down through your neck,
Shoulders,
Arms and hands,
Down through your chest and upper back,
Your abdomen and lower back,
Down through your hips.
Feel your body as a whole from the inside.
Feel the entire space inside and including your skin.
Feel the open,
Alive presence of your inner space.
In this open inner space,
Call to mind a sacred place.
It could be a peaceful room,
Shrine,
Temple,
Church or cathedral,
A place in nature or maybe just where you are right now.
Anywhere you want to be that feels sacred to you.
Imagine that you are arriving at this place for the first time,
So it is fresh and new and you notice all the details of the environment.
Are there any sacred objects,
Symbols or artifacts that enhance the feeling of this space?
Sit down in the center of this space,
In a most comfortable seat.
Feel the texture of the seat underneath you.
Really feel the sacred energy of this space.
Are there any sounds present?
Are there any scents or fragrances?
Perhaps there is a sweet taste to being here.
Take a deep breath in,
Breathing in the feeling of this space.
Breathe out with a sigh and let go.
Ah,
It feels so nurturing to sit in this space that emanates peace,
Love and light.
It embraces you unconditionally,
Just as you are.
Smile as you feel held and soothed in this sacred space.
Now,
In front of you,
Materializing before you,
Is a powerful being,
A being who embodies spiritual realization,
Divine consciousness,
Enlightenment,
However you would phrase this for yourself.
It can be anyone you wish to meet,
Anyone you deeply resonate with.
As this being materializes here,
Your heart opens,
Your mind opens.
The presence of this being might bring tears of joy.
The energy,
The spiritual force of this being is so powerful,
Yet so gentle,
Embracing and peaceful,
So loving and kind,
So compassionate and accepting.
Embracing you exactly as you are.
You can relate to this being in any way that feels right to you.
You might hug them,
Kneel before them,
Or sit beside them.
And they relate to you exactly as you wish they would,
Perhaps with a touch on your head or your heart,
Or welcoming you with open arms.
Their presence embraces you fully and completely.
You feel the energy of their presence,
An energy you've always known at the deepest level of being.
There's no doubt,
Full assurance,
A knowing that is unshakable,
A felt sense that is immutable.
You feel absolute rest and comfort in their presence.
Smile as you feel the warm embrace of their unconditional love.
This being now transforms into pure light,
A light that lights up the whole space and shines right through you.
This light has no limits,
No boundaries,
No beginning and no end.
The light of being itself,
Pure awareness,
Pure love.
This light infuses your being and dissolves into you.
There is only this light and you are that.
All embracing awareness,
Allowing everything to be just as it is in this luminous clarity.
Now feel your body as a whole from the inside.
Feel the entire space inside and including your skin.
Center awareness in the center of your heart,
The center point of the love that embraces all,
And know that you are that.
Feel the tingling aliveness at the top of your head.
Open to the clear light of the sky above.
Feel the soft openness in your hands,
Connected to the love in your heart.
And feel your feet firmly on the ground,
Connected to the deep presence of the earth below.
Slowly open your eyes and take in the feeling of the space all around.
Together with the feeling of the space inside as one space of peaceful,
Loving awareness embracing all.
Record this feeling deep in your heart and bring it with you,
Sharing it with others wherever you go.
