Welcome.
I'm glad you're here.
This practice is for the middle of the day.
The point where your energy has been used up and there are still hours to go.
That familiar slump,
Foggy mind,
Heavy eyes,
The sense that your concentration has left the building.
We're not going to push through it.
We're going to work with it.
A few minutes of deliberate breath work can help your system reset more effectively than forcing yourself to continue.
You can do this practice at your desk,
Sitting upright.
Or leaning back in your chair.
You do not need to lie down.
Although,
If you can,
That's ideal.
So let your hands rest lightly in your lap,
Palms facing upwards if you can.
And feel the weight of your legs.
Let your feet be flat on the floor if you're sitting.
Close your eyes if that is comfortable.
If not,
Just allow your gaze to soften downwards.
Take a moment to arrive.
To let the day pause for a few minutes.
And then bring your attention to your breath.
And just notice how it is right now.
Probably a little shallow.
Maybe a little high in the chest.
This is normal when you're tired and concentrating.
You do not need to change anything yet.
Just notice.
We're then going to work a little more with the breaths.
So when you feel ready,
Take a natural inhale and a longer slower exhale.
Let the out-breath take more time than usual.
Feel your belly soften.
Take another soft,
Easy breath in.
And an easy,
Unhurried breath out.
Let your shoulders drop as you exhale.
Let the jaw loosen.
A gentle inhale in your own time.
A slow,
Complete exhale,
Letting the breath finish fully,
Feeling the stillness at the end.
Another natural inhale when you're ready.
A longer exhale,
Steady and smooth,
Draining away to the end.
And wait for the next inhale to come on its own.
One final soft inhale when you're ready.
And the slowest,
Easiest exhale of the practice.
Let it complete itself.
Then just rest here for a moment.
Allow your breath to return to its natural rhythm.
And notice how you feel now,
Even the smallest shift.
Perhaps a little more grounded.
Perhaps slightly more clear.
Perhaps simply less contracted than you were a few minutes ago.
That is enough.
You don't need to feel transformed.
A small reset is a real reset.
When you're ready,
Deepen your next inhale.
Let your eyes open.
And return to your day without rushing.
If this was helpful,
I have more short breathwork practices and courses for low energy days available on my profile.
Thank you for practicing with me.
