Hello,
Welcome to our springtime meditation.
When you're ready to come into your practice,
Choose a position for this meditation that works for you.
It could be seated.
It could be lying down.
I just want you to be comfortable.
Take care of anything you need before we begin,
And then closing your eyes when you feel ready.
So springtime is a wonderful time of rebirth,
Renewal.
It's a time of clearing out old habits,
Beliefs,
Things that no longer serve us.
It's also a time of growth,
And that's part of what we're going to concentrate on today,
The growth part.
So I'm going to invite you to play.
We're going to visualize.
We're going to start with the big picture,
And this will end up being a metaphor for life,
But we're going to just start with bringing to mind our favorite flower.
You could just have one you're holding.
You might have a whole bouquet.
You might be in a whole field of them.
See your favorite flower,
And really get into this,
Aside from seeing it,
Really look at it.
Notice anything like little speckles on the petals.
Notice things like the color of the stem,
And then gently inhale it.
What does it smell like to you?
You might even touch it.
Does it have thorns?
Is it prickly,
Or is it smooth and soft?
Create this vivid image in your mind,
And now we're going to work down to the soil where it all begins.
So now picture your favorite flower as a little bud or seed,
And see that in the soil.
And right now,
All it is is a seed or bud in the soil.
No roots or anything yet.
It's just there,
Hanging,
But it has possibility,
And then do what you need to for it.
Cover it with soil,
Water it,
Sunlight.
You might want to talk to it,
And then see how this seed or bud starts to root into the ground.
It's growing roots.
It's rooting to the earth,
And then you start to see a little bit of growth popping out of the ground.
It's just a little bit,
And notice how you feel when you see that,
And then watch it,
Nourish it.
Give it what it needs to continue its growth cycle,
And maybe every day it gets a little more taller or wider.
Take your time.
Watch it.
It's growing.
It's growing.
As you nourish it,
It's growing every day,
And then eventually it becomes your favorite flower.
It's blooming.
It's beautiful.
Now,
We're going to play with this,
Like I said,
As a metaphor for our lives.
We're going to start just like we did with the flower.
I want you to see something in your life that you've either started to create or in the middle of creating or want to create.
So,
See the big picture and really get into this.
Whatever you want to happen,
See it,
See it,
See it,
And now,
Whatever you've just envisioned,
Imagine it as a little seed.
Maybe it's already been a seed,
Or maybe it's going to be a seed,
And I want you to plant it,
Put it in the earth,
And then start to nourish it,
And what that sometimes means is every day,
Maybe you take action on whatever this is you want to create in your life.
Maybe this thing needs a little bit of time.
Maybe it needs financial support.
Maybe it needs human support,
Whatever it is,
Whatever care it needs to grow,
See it receiving that,
And then it starts to root just like your flower did,
And you start to see these roots going out,
But you got to keep nourishing it.
You got to keep doing what you need to for it,
So that way,
Eventually,
Things start happening,
That teeny little growth,
And then a little bit more growth,
And a little bit more growth,
Until whatever it is you're wanting to create is in full bloom,
And it might even be better than you expected,
More beautiful than you expected.
So now,
I'm going to be silent for the next couple minutes,
And I'm going to invite you to really immerse yourself into this,
Put it out there,
See whatever it is you're wanting to create,
And build it from that teeny little seed to its full-on potential.
Go for it.
Keep envisioning for a little while longer.
Feel your excitement around this,
And remembering,
Just like nature,
Things start small.
They root,
They grow,
They bloom.
Most of those things need self-care,
Nourishment,
Time.
This spring,
Let's fully embrace the person we are.
Let's fully embrace the experiences that have gotten us to where we are,
And let's honor ourselves and watch ourselves blossom.
Now,
Let's close our meditation with a few breaths together.
We'll inhale through the nose for a count of six,
And we'll exhale through the nose for a count of six,
Rooting everything in that we've just visualized.
Inhale,
Exhale,
Inhale,
And once more,
Inhale,
And exhale.
When you're ready to come back from your meditation,
Start bringing gentle movement to your body.
Listen for the sounds in your room other than my voice.
Very slowly opening your eyes.
Take a few moments just to greet yourself back from your meditation,
And I wish you all a very happy,
Happy spring season.
