Hello,
I am Jenny Radica and this is a shorter version of my original meditation called Finding Comfort in Waiting,
Which can be used whilst waiting for a medical appointment or health diagnosis to keep you calm.
Listen to my voice and I will gently guide you.
Let's begin.
Finding yourself a comfortable position.
Sitting in a chair with your sitting bones at the back of the chair and your spine nice and tall.
Have both feet on the ground,
Feeling the earth beneath you.
Feeling the earth beneath you.
You can choose to close your eyes if it feels safe to do so.
Or if you are waiting in a public space,
You may choose to keep your eyes open and look down.
Taking some deep breaths in.
Feeling the belly expanding like a balloon on the inhale and pulling the belly back towards the spine on the exhale.
Observing the passage of breath through your nostrils as you take these deeper breaths in,
Making the exhale longer than the inhale.
And returning the breath back to normal.
Noticing the body beginning to relax on each exhale.
Unclenching the jaw,
Dropping the shoulders and letting the belly be soft.
Feeling the body sinking deeper down into the chair you are sitting in.
Letting the chair and the floor beneath you take your weight and hold you.
If any thoughts come to mind,
Just bring your awareness back to your breath.
If you feel comfortable,
Bring a gentle smile to your face and notice the spiritual heart's response.
Finding your peace.
Finding your peace.
Knowing that you are not alone in waiting and repeating mentally.
I am bringing awareness back to the breath.
Bringing the awareness back into the room that you are in.
Slowly opening your eyes,
Letting the light,
Colours and information back in.
Observing the noises around you and bringing them back to your attention.
Noticing how the body and the mind feels.
Knowing that you can come back to this meditation at any time whilst you continue to wait.
