Experiencing a shift in identity meditation.
I am Jenny Radica and this is a heart practice meditation for anyone experiencing a shift in identity due to a change in your health.
The meditation is designed to bring peace of mind and a pause to a confusing and stressful time.
It can be listened to daily or when you are grieving for a previous identity,
Helping you to feel calm and moving towards acceptance and hope.
Please know that you are not alone.
Listen to my voice and I will gently guide you.
Let's begin.
Finding yourself a comfortable position in a quiet and safe space away from noise and distraction.
I invite you to close your eyes if that feels comfortable or you can look down if that feels better.
Coming within the body,
Noticing your body and your mind and any tension that you may be holding.
Gently scan down through your body from the crown of your head to the tips of your toes.
Noticing particularly your jaw,
Shoulders,
Belly and legs and any other areas that may carry tension.
Seeking out this tension and kindly inviting the tension to leave.
Thank you,
But you are no longer needed here in my body,
I let you go.
I let the tension go.
Thank you.
Bringing awareness now to your breath,
Taking some deep breaths in and sighing out.
A final invitation for the tension to leave on each exhalation.
I let you go.
I let the tension go.
I invite you to bring one hand to your heart center,
The center of your chest in line with your armpits.
Bringing all awareness now to your spiritual heart,
Noticing the warmth and stillness from within.
I encourage you to bring a gentle smile to your face if that feels comfortable and notice the response of your heart.
Connecting with your spiritual heart.
When you find this connection,
Place your hand by your side.
When connecting with your heart,
You find your true nature.
Your true nature is love.
Your true identity is love,
The love within.
When connecting with your heart,
You begin to carve out an identity of love,
The love within.
With kindness and positive self-talk,
With care,
Attention and nourishment of your body,
Nurturing from the inside to the outside.
No change in health can take away your true identity,
Which is nestled within your heart,
Made up of love,
Kindness,
Empathy,
Compassion.
The love you have for yourself can be carved into a channel of love between yourself and others,
Forming your new identity.
Bringing a sense of self-awareness,
A new clarity that has not been seen before.
Reassessing unhelpful boundaries,
Undoing past behavior patterns,
Old habits,
Shifting priorities towards self-care and self-love.
A shift in identity can be a step towards authenticity,
Being our true genuine self.
It can bring a sense of relief,
No more masking or pretending.
It can bring empathy and understanding towards others,
Who are also experiencing a shift in identity due to health.
Empathy can open many doorways,
Introductions to new connections and places.
No change in health can take away your true identity,
Which is nestled within your heart,
Made up of love,
Kindness,
Empathy and compassion.
Bring your awareness back to your breath,
Observing the breath coming in and away.
The breath coming in and away.
Start deepening the breath,
Bringing fresh oxygen back into your body,
Circulating this peace and relaxation around your body.
Bringing awareness back into the room that you are in,
Slowly observing the noises around you,
Bringing them back to your attention.
Noticing how the body and mind feels.
Slowly opening your eyes and continuing with the rest of your day,
Knowing that you can come back to this meditation at any time whilst you are experiencing a shift in identity.
