Welcome to this meditation on the moon,
Nurturing,
Cherishing,
And coming home to yourself.
Let yourself be really comfortable for this one.
If you want to wrap yourself in something warm,
Then do that.
This is a moon meditation.
You're allowed to be soft.
As I record this,
It is Taurus season and the moon is exalted in Taurus,
Which means she's so,
So very happy there.
So no matter when you're listening to this,
Know that I am sending you comfort.
Take a slow breath in through the nose and let it fall out through the mouth.
And again,
Breathe in and just release.
Let the breath find its own rhythm.
Let the body begin to trust that it can rest.
Observe your breath for a few moments as you settle in.
The moon governs our emotional world,
Our instincts,
The inner life that most people never see.
Our moon sign tells us how we need to be nurtured,
How we give nurture to others,
And what we require in order to feel truly safe.
And today,
We're going to practice something that many of us find difficult,
Turning that nourishing and nurturing energy towards ourselves.
Let your body soften even further.
You spend so much of your time attending to others,
Anticipating what is needed,
Showing up and holding steady and keeping things together.
And all of that is beautiful,
And it's real,
And it's important.
But here in this space right now,
The only person you need to attend to is you.
So bring your awareness into your body and ask simply,
Where am I tired?
Not just physically,
Though maybe that requires attention too.
But ask,
Where am I emotionally tired?
Where have I been giving without being replenished?
Where do I feel a little bit thin?
Just let that be true without the guilt that so often follows it.
You are allowed to be tired.
You're allowed to need things.
You're allowed to have a tender interior that requires gentleness.
Imagine now that you are sitting beside a fire,
A warm,
Low fire,
The kind that doesn't need you to do anything with it.
It's just warmth and light.
Sit beside it.
And imagine that sitting across from you at this fire is yourself,
But the younger,
Softer version of you,
The one who is small enough to need tending.
Look at them for a moment and let yourself feel whatever arises.
What would you offer that younger self if you could?
What do they need to hear?
What simple thing would have made a difference?
Whatever that is,
Offer it now.
It's not too late.
The part of you that needed it is still in here listening.
Tell yourself whatever you needed to hear,
Silently or aloud,
As many times as feels right.
The moon asks us to honor our cycles.
She waxes and wanes and does not apologize for either.
She is full and she is dark and she is every place in between and each phase is necessary.
And you too are allowed to have phases,
To be bright and visible sometimes and quiet and interior at others.
You do not have to be at full capacity to be worthy.
You do not have to have something to offer to justify your existence.
You are allowed simply to be where you are.
Place one hand on your heart,
If that feels comfortable,
And feel your own warmth.
This warmth has sustained you through everything you've been through.
It is still here,
Still burning.
You've been so faithful to others.
Be faithful to yourself now,
In this small,
Quiet way.
Come back to the room whenever you feel ready.
There's no rush.
Be gentle with yourself.
And thank you so much for spending your time with me today.
Have a wonderful day.
