Let us start by finding a comfortable position in your bed,
Lying down on your back or your side and gently closing your eyes.
Take a deep breath in,
Filling your lungs completely and exhaling slowly,
Letting go of any tension and allowing your breath to guide you into a state of relaxation.
Take another deep breath in,
Feel your body becoming more relaxed with each breath.
Shift your awareness to any areas of tension and allow them to soften and melt away.
Focus on your feet and feel them relaxing,
Letting go of any tension.
Move your awareness up to your legs,
Allowing them to become heavy and relaxed.
Feel the relaxation spreading through your hips,
Allow your shoulders to drop and your arms to relax completely.
Soften your neck and your jaw and feel the wave of relaxation washing over your entire body.
Bring your awareness back to your breath,
Imagining each inhale as a calming,
Soothing energy and each exhale as a letting go of any remaining stress.
With each breath,
Allow your body to sink deeper into relaxation.
Visualise a warm,
Gentle light surrounding you,
Enveloping you in a cocoon of calm and safety.
This light begins to gently guide you into a deeper state of relaxation,
Preparing your mind and body for a restful sleep.
Visualising that warm light,
Focus on your toes,
Feeling that warm light moving as you breathe in.
Imagine that light flowing up through you and as you breathe out,
Feel any tension melting away.
Shift your awareness to feel the warm light moving from your feet to your ankles,
Your knees and as it flows through these areas,
Feel it relaxing every muscle and every fibre.
Feel the soothing light moving through,
Letting go of any tension or discomfort.
Letting go of any thoughts or worries.
Being present with the sensations of your body.
Feel the warm light filling the areas of your abdomen.
Feel it calming your breath and slowing your heart rate.
And as it moves up to your shoulders,

With each of the breaths you have taken thus far,
