Welcome to Float to Sleep.
Tonight you are invited to land wherever you are for the night.
Not just in your bed.
Not just in your body.
But in a quieter place within you that knows how to rest.
Let yourself arrive not by effort but by remembering you are already here.
Let this be the moment you set the day down.
Nothing more to carry.
Nothing left to solve.
Just the gentle sense of being received by the night.
There is nothing you need to do here.
Nothing you need to achieve.
Sleep is not something you have to find.
It already knows the way to you.
Take a moment now to notice yourself in your body.
Not by changing anything.
Just by noticing.
Notice yourself here.
Resting.
Supported.
Take a simple breath in.
Receiving all you need.
And a breath out.
Letting the day begin to fade.
If it feels comfortable,
Allow your eyes to gently close.
Letting the outer world continue to fall away.
Tonight you don't need to try to fall asleep.
You don't need to listen carefully.
You don't need to follow every word.
You can simply let my voice be here,
Like a quiet presence nearby.
It's something you don't have to respond to.
As your body begins to unwind in its own time,
You may begin to notice the natural rhythm of your breath.
Not changing it.
Not controlling it.
Just noticing.
That breathing is already happening.
A breath in.
And a breath out.
Notice how the exhale arrives on its own.
How the body already knows how to let go.
Notice how release does not require effort.
With each gentle out-breath,
Imagine the day loosening its grip.
Edges softening.
Moments unhooking.
Responsibilities setting themselves down.
If thoughts arise,
That's ok.
That's simply the mind noticing the body beginning to rest.
You don't need to follow them.
You don't need to push them away.
They can drift like clouds moving slowly across a dark night sky.
Passing without urgency.
Without needing your attention.
You are safe here.
Before we move any deeper,
Let's take three gentle breaths together.
Not to change anything.
Just to arrive.
A breath in.
And a breath out.
Softening into the support beneath you.
A breath in.
And a breath out.
Softening into the support beneath you.
And a slow breath out.
Resting here.
And a breath out.
Exactly as you are.
As you rest here,
Allow your awareness to drift gently toward the body.
Not to fix anything.
Begin by noticing where your body is already being held.
The surface beneath you.
The places where weight is given over without effort.
Back of the head resting.
The small muscles around the eyes softening on their own.
Notice the jaw.
Not asking it to relax.
Simply noticing if it is ready to release.
Awareness moves slowly through the shoulders.
Not adjusting.
Just sensing how they respond to being noticed.
Feel the gentle movement of the breath through the chest.
And the subtle shift of the body with each inhale and each exhale.
Bring awareness to the center of the body.
Noticing if there is space here.
Or a quiet holding and allowing it to be exactly as it is.
The weight of the thighs.
The quiet heaviness of the legs being fully supported.
Sensing the feet.
The farthest place from the mind.
Resting.
With nowhere else to go tonight.
The space around you begins to fade as awareness drifts inward.
Or simply the quiet absence of tension,
However it shows up,
Is just right.
You may notice moments where words blur.
Where attention comes and goes.
That's exactly as it should be.
Remembering how to sleep.
Even when the mind forgets.
You are already here.
With each breath out,
Imagine being gently gathered.
As if the night itself is drawing a blanket around you.
Tucking in the edges.
Making sure nothing is left exposed.
And breathing out as if there is nothing more for you to do now.
