Take a deep breath in and slowly breathe out.

Let yourself land here,

In your body,

In this moment.

There is nothing you need to fix right now.

No problem to solve.

Just your breath.

Just your truth.

Feel your body.

Feel the heaviness that lives in your shoulders.

Your neck,

Your chest,

Your jaw.

This is the weight of everything you've carried.

And today we begin the sacred work of letting it go.

Breathe in and sigh it out loud.

Breathe in.

Sigh it out.

Breathe in.

Sigh it out.

Now I want you to see yourself as a child.

See them in your mind's eye.

Small hands,

Big heart,

Eyes that understood too much too soon.

They are holding the emotions of adults,

Reading the room before they even understand their own feelings.

Looking at the faces.

Every little gesture means something.

They know.

They recognize the next move.

They are the one who hold it all together.

They are the one who learned.

If I don't hold this,

Everything falls apart.

If I don't fix it,

No one else will.

They became the survivor,

The responsible one,

The fixer,

The strong one.

Even when they were screaming inside,

Stop,

Stop,

Can't you see I'm only small?

It's too much for me.

But they kept it in.

They didn't want to be needy.

Needy is bad,

Selfish,

Weak.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

Now speak to them softly.

I see you.

I see how hard you tried.

I see how much you gave up to keep others safe.

I see how lonely you were,

Even when everyone needed you.

Let that truth rise.

Let the tears come if they need to.

You don't have to hold it anymore.

Release.

Breathe in.

Sigh it out.

Now see them.

This young version of you.

Carrying a backpack.

It's overflowing.

It's heavy.

Each object inside represents someone else's emotion.

Someone else's mistake.

Someone else's responsibility.

Now reach out to them and say.

You don't have to carry this anymore.

You never should have.

You were just a child.

It was their responsibility to hold you.

Now one by one.

Begin to take things out of the backpack.

Say them aloud or feel them in your heart.

This is my father's sadness and lost dreams.

This is my mother's anger and pain.

This is the shame I took on when no one protected me.

This is the pressure from everyone who leaned on me because I was reliable.

This is the belief that if I fail I have no worth.

This is the fear that I am only lovable when I am needed.

Let them go.

Drop them into the earth.

Let the earth take them.

Let the breath help you soften.

Breathing in.

Breathing out.

Breathing in.

Breathing out.

Say this with me now.

I am not responsible for everyone's healing.

I am not here to carry what is not mine.

I am a human.

I get tired.

I get lost.

I don't always have the answers.

And that does not make me less worthy of your love.

Now speak the truth.

The new truth.

I trust others to walk their path even if it means they stumble.

I no longer need to hold everything together to feel safe.

It is safe for me to rest.

It is safe for me to let go.

I am valuable.

I am loved for who I am.

Not just for what I do.

I release perfection.

I release control.

I release shame.

I belong even when I fall apart.

I heal.

I begin again.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

Feel how different your body feels now.

You might feel tender.

Hollow.

That's ok.

That's space.

That's what happens when the burden finally lifts.

Now rub your palms together to create heat.

Place them over your heart.

Inhale deeply.

And on your breath out.

Allow yourself to sink into the ground beneath you.

Allow yourself to feel your body.

The beating of your heart.

The shiver.

The energy flow.

Your heart has carried so much.

And still it beats.

Say to yourself now.

I release the weight that no longer belongs to me.

I honour the ending even when it hurts.

I am not broken.

I am becoming.

In the space of surrender.

I welcome what is ready to begin.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

Gently return.

Back to your body.

Back to this moment.

Back to yourself.
